Christmas Groove, Jazz & Gospel concert at the Black Cross in Saluzzo

On Friday 16 December at 9 pm in Saluzzo, in the Baroque setting of the Confraternity of the Black Cross, the appointment is with an original Advent concert organized by Bramafam CoCreative Italian Experiences.

With Christmas Groove we want to celebrate the wait for Christmas with a show of intense emotional involvement and rhythmic emphasis, fruit of the union of Jazz with the Gospel. The syncopated rhythms and the rich and complex harmonic structure of jazz will join the vocal energy, power and spirituality released by Gospel singing. On stage, to accompany the persuasive voice of the singer from Verzuolo Maria Christina Montethree great musicians: Nino La Piana and Roberto Chiriaco and Roman Alexander who, for the occasion, arranged a repertoire of typical Christmas songs in a jazz key. All three musicians, teachers at the GLM Musica Lab Jazz in Cuneo, represent Jazz “Made in Piedmont” at the highest levels, both nationally and internationally.

Nino La Pianaeclectic pianist musician composer has a long career spent between shows in Italian theaters and world tours and prestigious collaborations such as the one with Antonella Ruggiero, Gianni Coscia, Fabrizio Bosso, Demo Morselli, Enrico Rava, Flavio Boltro, Gianpaolo Petrini Big Band, Miroslav Vitous and Mariano Deidda and Matteo Brancaleone, famous Italian “crooner”.

Robert Chiriaco, double bass: Artistic director of the Boves Jazz Festival “Vie di Jazz” boasts numerous performances both in Italy and abroad, in cities such as Dubai, Berlin, Sofia, Moscow and Shanghai Numerous appearances at the Blue Note in Milan and in various festivals Jazz where he also performs as Matteo Brancaleoni’s official bassist. He is also the double bass player of Maestro Gianni Negro, as well as collaborating with the trumpeter Felice Reggio.

Alexander Romanor on drums instead represents the lever of the young jazz musicians of our province: a musician with a creative and versatile personality, he arrives to perform, at the age of only 25, alongside international artists of the caliber of Uri Caine, Andy Sheppard and Furio Di Castri.

Special Guest of the evening the Asti Gospel Choir: 18 choristers directed by the Maestro Aurelius Pitino, director and solo voice of the “Anno Domini Gospel Choir” of Turin which has to its credit prestigious performances such as that of the Family Day of Bresso (MI) in 2012 in the presence of Pope Benedict XVI; with Raphael Gualazzi in 2014 in Sanremo and with Bocelli in 2019, in the Rai2 program “Che tempo che fa”.

The choir will join the jazz band in the last pieces of the show for an engaging and powerful experience of singing, emotions, feelings but also of fraternity, sharing and friendship.

At the end of the show we will exchange Christmas greetings with a toast with Moscato Tenute Cisa Asinari of the Marchesi di Gresy and Panettone Albertengo, two Excellencies from Granda who wanted to “sign” the groove for next Christmas. Saluzzo, 6.12.2022 Reservation required.
