The book “The Pope’s smile” comes on the occasion of the beatification of Albino Luciani, the “Pope of the smile”, who brought to the attention of the whole world the figure of a man of faith and of the Church who knew how to make his life a masterpiece of humility, tenacity, spirit of service and love for all. Antonio Preziosi, with a story in a journalistic style, reconstructs details and episodes from the life of Albino Luciani and the pontificate of John Paul I, who was pastor of the universal Church for a very short time, but was able to trace a path that is still current with the strength of his example of life and his unforgettable smile. An updated biography, attentive to all aspects of the figure of the Pontiff who reigned for only a month: theologian, pastor, conciliar father, a man of intense and in some respects innovative spirituality. The story of a Pope who in just thirty-three days left an indelible mark on the history of the Church.

Antonio Preziosi, current director of Rai Parliament, is a journalist, essayist, writer and Vaticanist. A long-time correspondent for the public service (RAI) from Brussels, he has held the post of special envoy for years following the main events of domestic and international politics.
