Alario to the Ugl national council asks the government for help for the Nyssian territory

After the great success of the previous edition, the Center for Christian Culture and Spirituality “Salvatore Zuppardo” with the cultural patronage of “WikiPoesia” and in collaboration with the Betania OdV Association of Gela, announces and organizes the 23rd edition of the National Poetry Award ” The Golden Gorgon “.

The competition is divided into three sections:

  1. Religious poetry and / or free theme poetry in Italian including haiku;
  2. Religious and / or thematic poetry in the various Italian regional dialects;
  3. Poetry book published since 2013 in Italian and in the various Italian regional dialects, also in the haiku mode.

Sections A– B: all authors residing in Italy and abroad can participate and must send from one to three compositions (max 40 lines each), in seven typewritten copies. For haiku, send five to seven compositions.

The texts (Section AB) must be sent anonymously and another sealed envelope with no external sign must be inserted inside the envelope, containing the personal details, residential address, telephone number, e-mail address and a short literary curriculum together with the payment certificate pursuant to art. 9, as well as the section for which you intend to participate.

Section C: you can participate with one or more works in five copies published starting from 2013.

You can compete in all sections.

Awards section A

1st Prize: “Gorgone d’Oro” Trophy and check for Euro 500.00;

2nd Prize: “Gorgone d’Oro” Trophy and check for Euro 300.00;

3rd special prize for Haiku poems: Euro 200.00 ..

Awards section B

1st Prize: “Gorgone d’Oro” Trophy and check for Euro 400.00;

2nd Prize: “Gorgone d’Oro” Trophy and check for Euro 300.00;

3rd Classified “Gorgone d’Oro” Trophy and Diploma of merit.

Awards section C

1st Prize: “Gorgone d’Oro” Trophy and check for Euro 500.00;

2nd Prize: “Gorgone d’Oro” Trophy and check for Euro 300.00;

3rd Classified “Gorgone d’Oro” Trophy and Diploma of merit.

The organization also awards the following special prizes:

The award ceremony will take place on Saturday 10 June 2023 in Gela in the garden of the Erasmus Hotel. Any changes will be communicated in good time.

Juries of experts, whose unquestionable judgment is final, will examine the proceedings and formulate the relative judgments. The names of the members of the juries will be announced at the time of the award ceremony.

The juries have the right not to award prizes if the documents received are not considered adequate. The competing works will not be returned.

ANTHOLOGY

The Center for Christian Culture and Spirituality “Salvatore Zuppardo” will take care of the publication of an anthology containing the winning poems of all sections and the poems recommended by the juries.

The poets classified in first place in the respective sections of the 23rd edition of the prize will not be able to participate in the next edition, but will be part of the competition jury by right, if they so wish.
