After a long time of devotions only in faith organizations, the research carried out in the world in the last 20 years already has the effect of applying transcendental principles to the business field, specifically, spiritual intelligence.

It is already a scientific concept, treated by the main universities in the United States and the world in general. There are instruments that measure it: they evaluate leadership, happiness in life, how good a father one can be, or how good a partner; There is already a lot of research on the subject but it is very little known.

There are several descriptions of what spiritual intelligence is, one of the best being “the ability to choose your highest self over your ego in your daily life, drawing wisdom and peace,” according to David Fischman, a specialist author.

“It is understanding that you are more than your body and your mind,” he adds, “we have a personality, we have our good or bad things, and you are more than all that, you are a point of energy, a soul, a high being, whatever you want to call it, and that higher self, once your body ceases to exist, continues to exist. And connecting with your higher self helps you in life in many ways, “he details.

In a meta-analysis of the study of leadership and spiritual intelligence in companies –a set of 150 studies–, in the United States, it was found that the higher the spiritual intelligence, in the managerial cadres, there is greater satisfaction within the organization, lower labor turnover and higher productivity.

Silicon Valley companies “are very into” spiritual intelligence, especially through meditation.

At Apple they have a meditation area and they pay you half an hour, in your working time, to go meditate. CEOs are totally into meditation, into spirituality, into “compassive management.”

In Latin America, this trend is not yet seen much, but he believes that it will come sooner or later.

In addition to meditation, being in contact with nature is a way to develop spiritual intelligence.
