After the success of the 2021 edition created in collaboration with the historic Lacmus Festival, Musicamorfosi relaunches the artistic and organizational direction of the Tremezzina Music Festival with a special program of five live music events at the Teresio Olivelli Park and in the churchyard of the Black Madonna Church. of Rogaro, of Tremezzina, on Lake Como.

Inserted in the rich program of musical events of Suoni Mobili, the traveling festival of the Association that brings international live music in five provinces between Lombardy and Piedmont until August 15, the new edition of the Tremezzina Music Festival is realized thanks to the patronage of the Lombardy Region Council and to the Municipality of Tremezzina, reconfirming itself as an important summer reference for live music in the area, bringing, thanks to intense research and artistic scouting, the performances of musicians of international standing, presenting a specific focus on young talents: this year Italian and Swiss thanks to the collaboration with ProHelvetia.

The 2022 edition will take place in two exceptional venues: in the churchyard of the historic Church of the Black Madonna of Rogaro dating back to the 18th century and in the historic Teresio Olivelli Park, located on the western shore of Lake Como. Both venues will offer a unique view of Lake Como. The stage will be at the water’s edge in the green heart of the Park, a real botanical and architectural jewel. To make the Park’s heritage unique, the architectural achievements of the historic rationalist architect Pietro Lingeri who, in 1925, was commissioned to redesign the park by the Meier family: the imposing double staircase that envelops the central fountain, ideally embracing the area as well. concerts; the eighteenth-century tarot board, an octagonal temple of pleasant aesthetic essentiality; the botanical planning of the park itself, which includes trees of extraordinary beauty and compositional harmony including cypresses, camphor, pines and cedars, some of which have their roots in the lake.

The five concerts of Tremezzina Music Festival 2022 will present an original musical journey through the artistic contaminations of jazz and the compositional influences of black music, in full harmony with the philosophy of multiculturalism and artistic transversality promoted by Musicamorfosi.

“This edition is characterized by a new, transversal artistic path, which runs through the suggestions and strength of the contemporary and winds along a path that explores music with strong cultural roots with artistic courage – declares Saul Beretta, creative director of Musicamorfosi – spiritual and black music, the popular songwriting of Salento and Southern Italy, the works of incredible compositional essentiality by Arvo Part and Zbigniew Preisner, up to new compositions and pressing and modern rhythms by Phase Duo, Anais Drago and Woodoism. It will be an intense program, but within the reach of any listener who wants to enjoy it in two spectacular and exclusive places on the shores of Lake Como. “

Monday 8 to 21 at the Tereso Olivelli Park, what Carlin Petrin has defined urban fanfare, that is the Bandakadabra will combine the notes with those of the talented trumpet by Giovanni Falzone in the show POST / FUNERAL MUSIC, a new project that makes use of the extraordinary participation of the trombonist of international caliber Mr. T-Bone re-proposing the repertoire of the funeral marches of New Orleans which, in accompanying the end of a life in music, celebrate its spiritual eternity through rhythms and melodies of African-American heritage born in the city cradle of contemporary jazz: from Amazing Grace to Just a Closer With Thee, to Down by the Riverside and When the Saints Go Marching In.

Tuesday 9 reserves a double appointment: at 10.30, the Piazzetta di Rogaro will host the show SACRI MANTICI starring accordionist Antonino De Luca, a 1991 class performer of international caliber (he has performed in Germany, United States, Canada, Holland, Slovakia, France , Israel, England, Poland and many other countries). The concert will take place in the churchyard of the Church of the Madonna of Einsiedeln, the only oratory in Italy dedicated to the Black Madonna, where the accordion will be the vehicle of a musical narration suspended between the sacred and the profane, between the spirituality and naturalness of a privileged view of Lake Como.
At 9 pm at the Teresio Olivelli Park, De Luca’s accordion will meet the voice of the singer Maria Mazzotta, former voice of the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino and one of the most popular voices in the panorama of European world music, in the show AMORE AMARO. The musical project is an intense and passionate female reflection on the various faces of love, from the great, desperate and vulnerable one to the sick, possessive and abused one, through the artistic tradition of stornelli up to the rearranged traditional songs and milestones such as Lu pisci Spada by Domenico Modugno, Rosa sings and cunta by the great Sicilian singer-songwriter Rosa Balistreri and two unreleased songs in the Salento language: the painful love ballad Nu me lassare and the pizzica Amore Amaro.

After the emotional turmoil caused by love, on Wednesday 10th at 9pm an original Musicamorfosi production will be ascended to PARADISO, starring Phase Duo, fresh from the success in Hanover at Classical Next with Eloisa Manera (vocals), Stefano Greco (electronics and monochord) , Joo Cho (soprano), Roberto Olzer (organ) and Andrea Baronchelli (trombone). The concert, equally spiritual, will be a musical concept told “between Hell and Heaven”, through an unprecedented sound mix of analog and digital, classic and electronic and retracing centuries of music history with the reworking of some masterpieces of the past, from Bach to Mozart up to contemporary authors such as Arvo Part and Z. Preisner, author of the soundtrack of K Kieslowsky’s films.

The special five-day Musicamorfosi a fior di lago will end with the BACK TO BLACK concert, at 9 pm at the Teresio Olivelli Park, which closes the circle of artistic, musical, cultural and spiritual research promoted by the 2022 edition of Tremezzina Music Festival. Anais Drago, a very young Italian talent winner of the Top Jazz – New Talents 2021 award, will mix jazz, experimentation, world music in a personal style together with the group led by the award-winning Swiss trombonist Florian Weiss. Africa and voodoo will be the artistic starting point for a jazz concert that ideally starts from Zurich and explores the sounds of black Africa, until returning to the starting point of the Music Festival: classic New Orleans spirituals.

The goal is to combine musical research at an international level with the enhancement of art, history, territory and cultural traditions of the concert venues, often selected as historical and artistic heritages of the provinces involved, for a free and free Festival in the name of social inclusion and enhancement of the territory’s unique heritage.
