Training, astrology and personal growth: here is the isolated Venus

It is a debut novel An isolated Venus (Do it human) that of the famous Milanese pr Monica Refounder and president of Studio Re Media Relations. A coming-of-age story which, page after page, envelops the reader to the point of projecting him, in a total way, into the life of the protagonist, involving him in her evolution, in a story that becomes life training and self-knowledge for readers.

The protagonist of the novel, Valentina, is a mother and businesswoman who, while organizing a fashion show, discovers a new, unexpected, but revealing part of herself. A book which, starting with the title, relates to a form of astrology, the humanistic one, to which the writer has arrived after so many years: “It is an excellent tool for creating a map of what are the characteristics and type of opportunities that an individual may have at an evolutionary level, such as what are the problems that can somehow teach something and lead to a higher level. All this can be read through the natal chart, that is the photograph of the sky at the moment of the birth of a human being, which highlights the planets and constellations that were forming in the sky at that moment. If interpreted correctly, the natal chart brings to light certain challenges that a person must face throughout life in order to be able to fulfill the meaning of one’s existence: only when all the aspects that have been assigned at the moment of birth are recognized and integrated into the life and in the personality, one can feel accomplished” tells.

This personal experience passes through his brilliant pen to Valentina, the protagonist of his book, who has a “tricky” Venus in her Christmas theme: “Which does not form any aspect with the other planets. This characteristic makes it very difficult to integrate one’s artistic side, and makes it difficult to manage a whole series of aspects of daily life. The book tells how the protagonist manages to get in touch with this part of herself, and finally to acquire the first principle of art, embarking on an evolutionary path”explains the author.

A path, that of the protagonist Valentina, but also of the writer, which sees its maximum expression precisely with the pigeonholing of the various pieces of the puzzle of life, which often rotate in our thoughts without finding the right place: “There has been nothing in my life that has given me joy like writing this novel: when I started, my need was simply to create a cosmos from the chaos I had inside at a particular moment in my life, and over time it has turned into the artistic expression of what I had long since set aside”.

A book that can be considered a journey, where every single element encountered on the road travelled, takes on a different meaning when it joins the other pieces, becoming more complete and satisfying, and showing a design of which often in our existence we can only see the sketchy nuances. In the life of the protagonist fashion and spirituality are mixed, as elements not at the antipodes as they may seem, made of frivolity the first and depth the second, but of mutual communion. “I have always seen fashion as a symbol of beauty but also of awareness: consequently it was natural to combine my greatest passions such as fashion, understood as a channel of expression of a beautiful and conscious work and work linked to the esoteric world, interpreted as an expression of the deepest part of oneself. The various characters that the protagonist meets during the organization of this very particular fashion show inspired by Jodorowsky, in fact, somehow dictate the rhythm of this evolutionary work of an artistic nature which however then explodes in the end into something very beautiful and profound”, explains Monica Re.

A reading that will surely fascinate, for the profound lightness with which it manages to envelop the reader, thanks also to the writer’s beautiful work done on the various narrative levels, which like a perfume or a flavor is perceived as one goes on. There is the world of fashion in which, concretely, the protagonist finds herself having to organize the designer’s fashion show Alessandro DeLucchiinspired by the film El Topo from Alejandro Jodorowsky, one of the greatest masters of surrealism, tarology and psychomagic. Then there is the evolution of the protagonist Valentina, who at the beginning is just the mother of two little girls, with a new job to carry on, and a great fragility of life in which many women can recognize themselves. And finally the excellent work of knowledge of some techniques, which are found in the life of the protagonist, such as astrology or esotericism, often lived with prejudice, which is given back in the most serious and profound form, a dignity and a strength as a tool for self-knowledge.
