Tourism, Corrado: with “Ambassador” we promote Lazio as a wellness tourist destination

The television production promoted by the Lazio Region Tourism Department and conceived by Stefano Ribaldi, who tells and promotes the Lazio region as a wellness tourist destination is called “Ambassador”. Six episodes, one for each province with the addition of an episode dedicated exclusively to Rome, in which one or more Ambassadors narrate historical and naturalistic beauties in a fascinating way, suggest food and wine specialties, indicate itineraries and reveal secrets of the territory that the spectator and the traveler looking for wellness tourist experiences can live. Exclusively for ALMA TV, channel 65 DTT, the program will be aired on Saturdays and Sundays starting from 8 October at 20.00, with reruns from 9 October at 11.00.

“Our Region, so rich in historical, natural and cultural beauties, with an important food and wine and a significant spa and sports offer, thanks to facilities able to offer environments and services dedicated to the balance between body and mind, is a tourist destination with a great vocation for wellness. We want to continue to enhance the value of the known attractive factors, and even more than the unexplored ones present in the five provinces, to suggest our unicum in an evocative way, so as to intercept the demand oriented towards the wellness tourism product, which is increasingly growing. and give an impetus to the economy of the entire Lazio region ”- declared Valentina Corrado, Councilor for Tourism and Local Authorities of the Lazio Region.

The initiative is part of the programmatic actions of marketing, promotion and tourism enhancement of the entire regional territory strongly desired by the Lazio Region Tourism Department through the resources of the Development and Cohesion Fund.

DETAILS OF THE 6 EPISODES

Episode 1 – province of Viterbo, broadcast on Saturday 8/10 at 20:00 – rerun on Sunday 09/10 at 11.00

The first episode is dedicated to the province of Viterbo, one of the most fascinating areas of Lazio: the ancient land of the Etruscans, still today a treasure trove of suggestive villages, splendid villas and palaces, wonderful gardens, precious archaeological areas and ancient necropolis. The Ambassadors who will guide us to discover the well-being of this territory rich in history and traditions are the philosopher Sebastiano Maffettone and the writer and teacher of Italian literature Massimo Onofri. Natural resources such as the thermal water of the Bullicame spring and the mud extracted from the Bagnaccio lake, undisputed protagonists of the Terme dei Papi, a thermal establishment located in the heart of Viterbo’s Tuscia, will be told and described by the health director Piergiorgio Calcaterra. Finally, considering that well-being is also measured by the quality and genuineness of what we eat, we will know a true delicacy from Viterbo: Canepina macaroni or hay. A recipe that has origins in the Middle Ages and that will be told to us by one of the major producers of the ancient village that hides among the chestnut groves of the Cimini mountains: Guido Fanelli of the artisan pasta factory that bears his name.

Episode 2 – province of Rieti, broadcast on Sunday 9/10 at 20:00 – rerun on Saturday 15/10 at 11.00

The second episode is dedicated to Sabina, the province of Rieti. A land famous for hosting some of the best historic villages of Lazio and central Italy. We will meet the theater director, founder and artistic director of the Potlach Theater, who has lived and worked in Fara in Sabina since the seventies and who will tell how the life of this area has been nourishment for his creativity. At the marvelous Benedictine Abbey of Farfa, a stop on the Way of St. Francis, we will meet Nicola Caracciolo, founder of another famous journey, who will explain the relationship – fundamental – between spirituality and psycho-physical well-being. Finally, you could not miss a visit to a historic Sabine oil mill where you can taste and learn about the characteristics of what is unanimously recognized as one of the best Extra Virgin Olive Oils in the country.

Episode 3 – province of Rome, broadcast on Saturday 15/10 at 20:00 – rerun on Sunday 16/10 at 11.00

The third episode of Ambassador is dedicated to the largest and most populated province of Lazio, the Province of Rome. We will visit the territory enclosed between Frascati, Monte Porzio Catone and Grottaferrata, enriched by a series of sumptuous late Renaissance and Baroque patrician residences, which the Roman nobility wanted to be built in the green of the Alban Hills. We will get to know the ancient Villa Cavalletti and taste the typical wine of the castles, the Frascati Doc. Finally, we will discover the thermal baths of the Roman coast, an oasis of well-being a few steps from the capital built in a historic estate and immersed in a centuries-old garden: the resort and QC Terme wellness center.

Episode 4 – province of Frosinone, broadcast on Sunday 16/10 at 20:00 – rerun on Saturday 22/10 at 11.00

The fourth stage of our journey into the well-being of the Lazio region will take us to Ciociaria in the province of Frosinone, a territory that is the custodian of enchanting villages and ancient traditions, so called because of the ciocie, the dialect name used to indicate the footwear of the local shepherds in the past. . To guide us among the most beautiful villages of Ciociaria will be Fiorello Primi, President of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy Association. We will then visit the famous thermal baths of Fiuggi, one of the largest and oldest in Europe, whose source was already known in Roman times for the beneficial properties of its low mineral content waters. The source is located at the foot of the Ernici Mountains in the Fiuggi basin which, in prehistoric times, was a lake and the lake sedimentation has enriched the soil with beneficial substances that purify the body and promote well-being. Finally, we will meet Salvatore Tassa, starred chef of the Acuto restaurant, the Ciociare Hills.

Episode 5 – province of Latina, Saturday 22/10 at 20.00 – rerun Sunday 23/10 at 11.00

The fifth episode of Ambassador is dedicated to the province of Latina. There are many places in the Agro Pontino and its surroundings that offer the visitor corners full of charm and charm. It is an area rich in historical, archaeological and naturalistic evidence, in particular in the mountainous areas of the Preappennino made up of the groups of the Lepini and Ausoni mountains that surround and delimit the Pontine Plain. A real environmental, botanical and historical jewel, which is located right on the slopes of the Lepini Mountains, is the Oasis of Ninfa. One of its peculiarities is to have, among the many botanical species, some plants from different parts of the world that have found in this area an excellent climate where they can grow and reproduce. In Latina we will meet the young singer-songwriter, lyricist and composer Roberto Casalino who told us about his musical journey but also how much the territory in which he grew up has affected him. In Gaeta we will be guided by the journalist Andrea Brengola to discover the Montagna Spaccata and the Grotta del Turco, a mysterious crack in the mountain overlooking the sea, a secret cave where, in the Middle Ages, the ships of Saracen pirates found a refuge and a safe hiding place. Finally, we will learn the secrets of the famous Gaetana tiella with chef Davide Orlando.

Episode 6 – Rome, broadcast on Sunday 23/10 at 20:00 – rerun on Saturday 29/10 at 11.00

Sixth and final episode for Ambassador which closes with a focus on the capital. To talk about the well-being of Rome, it will be highlighted how the capital has always been the main venue for most of the sporting events that take place in the country. It is the Italian city in which more world and European championships of Olympic sports have been held, including the two FIFA World Cups in football, both with a final in Rome, as well as the world championships in athletics and swimming. The Italian National Olympic Committee, CONI and almost all the sports federations associated with it are based in the capital. There are sports facilities that stand out for their capacity and the importance of the events hosted: from the Olympic Stadium to the Sports Palace, from the swimming stadium to the tennis one. To talk about sport, an exceptional Ambassador: Daniele Masala, pentathlete, world and Olympic champion, who held the position of Technical Commissioner of the Men’s National Team of the Italian Modern Pentathlon Federation. Continuing our journey in search of well-being we will then visit the Baths of Caracalla, the greatest example of large imperial baths and one of the largest thermal complexes of antiquity. Finally, we will discover an emblematic dish of the city of Rome: carbonara. A dish today also approved by nutritionists for the right combination of carbohydrates and noble proteins that will be told to us by an undisputed master of the Roman dish: the chef Flavio di Maio of the Velavevodetto restaurant in the Testaccio district.
