The Magic Crossroads Festival, now in its 9th edition, scheduled for Friday 5 and Saturday 6 August in the splendid setting of Piazza Basilica, is back in its classic version on the street and with a lot of joy.
Two evenings of shows
Two evenings of theater, humor, acrobatics and lightness promoted and organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism Development of the Municipality of Tirano with the collaboration of the Media Valtellina tourist consortium and with the artistic direction of Lorenzo Baronchelli.
Guests 4 Italian and international companies who will present 4 different shows to entertain and fascinate the public of adults and children by offering residents and tourists two evenings of amazement and wonder in the Piazza Basilica closed to traffic from 20.30 and 23.30.
Friday 5th August
On Friday, in the name of lightness, but also with the awareness of what is happening in the world, the multi-award-winning Ukrainian mimes of the incredible Quartett Dekru are the spiritual heirs of the great Marcel Marceau and winners at the Moscow World Circus Festival and the Festival by Clown and Mimi from Odessa. A quartet in black and white that with its show Anime light will overwhelm the audience thanks to the art of movement and the reproduction of many different realities, drawing inspiration from everyday life.
The unique method, developed by 4 young and excellent artists, leaves the audience speechless with an extraordinary exhibition of physical theater.
The two young and talented artists of the Italian-German ensemble Pigreco company open and close the Friday evening with their juggling and acrobatic show My Heart is on the Table in which technique explores the world of temptations and becomes poetry. On stage a table and two chairs and on the table the “red candies”, the temptations in the form of juggling balls wrapped in flaming red and bottles of sparkling wine.
Saturday 6th August
On Saturday the drum roll of the urban drummer Dom will call the public at 8.30 pm with Ritmo! a very special concert with recycled objects: armed with tap shoes and his inseparable drumsticks, the eccentric percussionist-dancer Dom gives life to an unstoppable crescendo of rhythms and gags that interact with the audience and which will be difficult to resist.
For those who have missed them on Friday, the acrobatic jugglers of Pigreco company will perform again to make room for the Eccentrici Dadarò, already several times guests of the Festival who will present Operativi! winning show of the 2014 Cantieri di Strada National Competition and awarded Best street show at the Babel Festival 2019.
A German, an American and an Italian … three clown-soldiers arrive to erect a monument to the fallen of each war as a reminder of how much stupidity there has been in history.
Among amusing and surprising gags, misunderstandings and betrayals, we look at the ingenuity of clowns and the weakness of man, to laugh at both in the show but also to think about it returning home, perhaps in front of the TV and the usual TG.
After the replica of the talented artists of the Pigreco company, the greeting to the public is entrusted to the sounds of plastic buckets, kitchen pans, bicycle bells of the eclectic drummer-dancer Dom.
Magical Crossroads
Amidst laughter and amazement, in the splendid setting of Piazza Basilica, the public can enjoy refreshments and tastings in the restaurants and cafes of the area.
As always, participation in MAGICO CROCEVIA is free.
