After two years of stagnation due to the pandemic, the Week of Spirituality and Culture come back with “50 Times Thanks”, a special edition to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of priestly ordination of don Angelo Imbriacopastor of skin (fraction of Moio della Civitella) e Cardile (fraction of Gioi). Divided into six evenings, given the exceptional nature of the event, the Week of Spirituality and Culture 2022 – now in its twelfth edition – will take place in the two parishes in which the parish priest performs priestly service: the 12, 13, 14, 15 and 18 July to skin and the July 16th to Cardile.

“50 Times Thanks”, an explanatory title chosen for the special edition of the Week of Spirituality and Culture – conceived by the parish priest of Pellare and Cardile himself – which well reflects the feeling of gratitude for the achievement of such an important anniversary.
In this regard, the most heartfelt moment of the entire event will be there Solemn Eucharistic Concelebration of the 50th Anniversary of Priesthood. In Pellare, the Holy Mass will be presided over by Don Angelo Imbriaco, the 15th of July, in the Parish Church (7.30 pm). Here the songs will be performed by the choir Oris Valletta. To follow, the celebrations in Piazza degli Eroi and the concert by M° Angelo Loia (21:00). In Cardile, the July 16th (19:00) will be HE Mons. Cyrus Miniero to preside over the Solemn Concelebration with Confirmation. The celebrations will follow in Piazza A. D’Aiuto (9.30 pm).
During the cultural review, two books written by Don Angelo Imbriaco will be presented. Specifically, the July 12th (10.00 pm, in Pellare in Piazza degli Eroi) will be presented: “The Franciscan Convent of Pellare”. A roundtable discussion will follow. Still in Pellare, the July 14th (10.30 pm), space will be given to the memory of the 50 years of priestly ordination of Don Angelo Imbriaco with the book: “50 Thank you times”. An evening dedicated to memories, interspersed with musical moments thanks to the presence of the historic group “The Children of Bacchus” and the young singer-songwriter from Pellarese, Walter Valletta.
The July 18th (22:00, Pellare) will also be presented the biography concerning the figure of Father Egidio Merola – conventual friar minor for whom the diocesan Tribunal of Nardò-Gallipoli, on 30 April 2021, gave way to the cause of beatification and canonization –, born in Barra di Napoli (1 May 1906) from parents both from Pellars. The conclusions will be entrusted to SE Mons. Cyrus Minierobishop of Vallo della Lucania.
Finally, to keep faith with the commitment made at the end of the last edition of the Week of Spirituality and Culture (2019), on the evening of July 13th the music CD will be presented “A Suon di… Musica – Tribute to the historic Banda di Pellare”de “The Great Band of Cilento”, directed by M° Nicholas Pellegrino. A record product born from the research work carried out by Don Angelo Imbriaco concerning the ancient musical band of Pellare (in activity between about 1880 and 1945) directed by the Masters Elijah Guarino, Joseph Ferrante and Oris Valletta. The concert of “The Great Band of Cilento”.
A moment of celebration, of memories and reflections, thanks to a rich program that encompasses – only minimally – the journey made by Don Angelo Imbriaco during the 50 years of his priestly life and beyond.
