The shift – The Change is a film by director Michael A. Goorjian. The main character is Wayne Dyer, author of the famous self-help book Your erroneous areas.

During the film, Dr. Wayne Dyer acts as a guide and spiritual teacher to the people he meets. Through talks and experiences, she will pretend to realize that life is not a river that goes with the current. Her goal is for everyone to find their own way and discover their true self.

It will show them that everything can make sense again if we know how to listen to each other, if we dare to follow the path that our heart marks for us. We can all initiate “the change” if we truly feel we are not where we want to be.

The three stories of The shift – The Change

The film features three different stories in which the protagonists have lost the direction of their dreams and feel empty.

A devoted mother

The first case is that of a mother so devoted to her family that she forgot to live. For years she has given everything for the welfare of her family, but she has put aside her dreams, hobbies, desires, interests… she notices this during the film and will learn to recover her life.

Every human being deserves his own individual space, in it we discover and realize ourselves. Taking time out for yourself is essential. And those who don’t do it because of too much work or to look after others will end up feeling emptiness.

An unhappy couple

The second case is that of a couple accustomed to a high standard of living. They seem to have it all, but they realize that wealth does not bring happiness. We are not what we have. Otherwise, if one day we lose our belongings, we will be left with nothing.

The couple will learn to appreciate the little things. You will find that the greatest wealth lies in the simplicity and small details of life.

A professional

The third case is that of an ambitious director who has forgotten to live in the present and focused solely on his work.

Future successes occupied his entire life. Living exclusively for work ends up blurring the present moment, the here and now.

Rules for achieving fullness

The shift – The Change reminds us that we can enjoy a full life. How?

  • Living consciously, savor the present moment in its entirety. To do this, one must be immersed in the present and not let the mind wander elsewhere.
  • Put the ego aside, remember that we are neither our job nor our wealth. When we read within ourselves without labels or belonging, well-being begins to flow within us.
  • Giving up on perfection. We don’t have to be perfect to be happy.
  • Don’t depend on others. If we live in favor of others, we lose our freedom. Everyone is free to think what they want and that shouldn’t affect their way of life. Reputation is something intangible, created by others, and to which we should no longer give importance. The essential is not what happens outside, it is what happens inside us.
  • Listening to yourself without judging yourself. The ego usually interferes when making a decision; that perfectionist part comes to light that reminds us that “normal” is doing one thing or the other. When we free ourselves from interference, everything flows naturally and we perceive our true dreams.

Conclusions

The shift – The Change it is a film that invites you to reflect. It leads the viewer to wonder: am I where I want? Am I really living or I am running away dreams and happiness?

We are creators of our life and everything can regain meaning if we dedicate something to ourselves and act according to our particular and personal way.
