The second season of ‘Buscando a Dios’ will premiere on History 2

The channel created by the demand of viewers who wanted to know much more about topics related to history, History 2, shared that in the programming of the biggest week (Easter), the most watched series returns: looking for godOn this occasion, the second season will be screened.

Within the framework of the week in which the Catholic religion is the protagonist, History 2 stresses that premieres exclusively for Latin America the new season of the documentary series that delves into the deepest religious and spiritual expressions. Indeed, the proposal will show “A context where the world faces a global health crisis and bloody wars.”

Next Monday, April 18, the first channel created by popular demand will share the delivery of the documentary series looking for god. This production is part of the Holy Week special in which, starting from ten episodes, the Chilean presenter and journalist Jorge Said presents his story of a tour of four continents: Africa, Europe, America and Asia.

According to a shared press release, the topics that will be addressed in each video and audio snippet are: el Day of the Dead in Mexico; the largest pilgrimage in Africa in the spectacular Grand Magal de Touba; the deep relationship of indigenous peoples with mother earth in South America; Shiite pilgrimages in Iraq; the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan and the escape from Kabul of one of the last foreign journalists, in the midst of one of the most chaotic evacuations in history and the role faith plays in Ukraine as millions of people flee war.

“Being able to bring our audience the new chapters of looking for god is really a privilege, since its content and realization are especially captivating by showing how spirituality, religion and war are lived at the same time ”, said César Sabroso, Senior VP of Affiliates, Marketing and Communications at A+E Networks Latin America.

“This time, international news is more present than ever, especially in the episodes of Afghanistan and Ukraine, which show a journey through the world of faith at a time that will undoubtedly be marked as an important milestone in the history of the 21st century,” he said.

In that sense, regarding Afghanistan, the series begins by showing what it was like to live in that place. The before and after of the Taliban militias, they indicate. “It was one of those great moments in life that mark forever; all those families and women who went out with us on the different planes made us live the most extraordinary adventure of our lives”, said Said, the last western journalist to leave Kabul.

On the other hand, in terms of visits to Latin America, which can be seen in the second season of looking for God, there will be an investigative sample that focuses on analyzing the pre-Hispanic cultures in search of religion since the Incas in Peru and the Mayan and Aztec universe. Likewise, it consigns the celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe and the Day of the Dead in Mexico, in addition to religious syncretism and Santeria in Cuba.

In the first season, Said surprised the audience with records of great religious pilgrimages and, with camera in hand, toured countries like Iraq, Japan, China, India, Israel, among others; it showed the most important spiritual processions in the world, becoming the most watched program of History 2 in 2021. Now, in 2022, the production hopes to continue in the same position.
