The Night of the Museums in Rome and the exhibition of the works of Luminita Taranu

Once the sumptuous reception halls of the Romanian Embassy in Italy have returned to courtly everyday life, we retrace the memorable moments of the evening of May 14, 2022 and the events held here on the occasion of the recurring annual Roman “Night of the Museums”.

It happened that, for the first time in sixty years, the Roman headquarters of the diplomacy of the friendly country, that is a strip of Romanian soil in a foreign land, joined a celebration of the host capital and opened extraterritoriality to all to let admired the its interiors, and that always for the first time, a new Ambassador of Romania has met so many compatriots, foreigners, and also a heterogeneous flow of people, most of them eager to discover, in the new Lady of the palace, new traits of sympathy awaited , friendliness and availability; finally, again for the first time, that a valiant representative of the Romanian artistic culture, Luminița Țăranuhas received the coveted recognition of being invited to present her works, during such an important celebration, and in the exclusive diplomatic seat of her homeland of origin.

We, welcomed with our small technical follow-up by the Embassy councilor Ovidiu Pufu in the already crowded halls, we waited for SE Gabriela Dancau the ambassador who, fresh from the decree appointing the president Klaus Iohannis, Ambassador of Romania to the Italian Republic and the Sovereign Order of Malta, she would have given the official opening of the Roman Night of Museums.

And the Ambassador did not wait long for the large audience who, welcomed with a deference we would dare to say affectionate, also praised the internal architecture with its refined details of what was part of the casino of Villa Peragallo, built in 1922 on a project by Marcello Piacentini (1881/1960), urban planner And academic Italianprotagonist ofItalian architecture in the thirty years 1910-1940. The occasion was also propitious to meet, get to know and briefly entertain himself with many of his compatriots to listen to their stories and needs with evident interest, without neglecting particular attention to Luminița Țăranu and his works, which stood out around with their figurative representations, the chromatisms, the artist’s tendency to essentiality, in large fields as well as in the smallest ones.
