FROM 27 AUGUST TO 1 OCTOBER THE PIEDMONT REVIEW OF MEETINGS, TALES AND SONGS, BETWEEN MONFERRATO, A UNESCO SITE, AND ITS SURROUNDINGS,IN SAN SALVATORE, VALENZA, LU-CUCCARO, MIRABELLO, BALZOLA, ALESSANDRIA, RIVE, PONTESTURA WITH THE ARTISTIC DIRECTION BY ENRICO DEREGIBUS
There are eighteen appointments of the 17to edition of the “PeM! Festival – Words and Music in Monferrato”. A highly composite program that will run from 27 August to 1 October, hosting important personalities from Italian music, art and society. The names already announced are joined by Arturo Brachetti, Violante Placido, Paolo Benvegnù, Marina Massironi (in an evening on Mario Lodi in collaboration with the Junior Biennale / Palmisano Foundation), Chiamamifaro and Maurizio Crosetti, to seal the most substantial edition in the history of the festival Piedmontese of meetings, stories and songs directed by Enrico Deregibus. A traveling event that will touch the municipalities of San Salvatore (leader), Lu-Cuccaro, Balzola, Valenza, Mirabello, which were already part of the festival, and Alessandria, Pontestura and Rive, which joined this year.
To complete the program, the appointments already announced in recent weeks, with Morgan, Ron, Pilar Fogliati, the Statuto, Vasco Brondi, Luca Morino, Carlot-ta. And again: the tribute to Franco Battiato with Pino Marino, the one to Lucio Dalla with Roberta Giallo, the literary walk with Davide Longo dedicated to Beppe Fenoglio, the tribute evening for Maurizio Martinotti. And then this year’s novelty, the “PeM Music Contest”, the music contest for young artists from the province of Alessandria, which will see Nyko Ascia, Nicola Project, L’ottico and Roma in the final at the Country Sport Village in Mirabello.
The fulcrum of the event is made up of meetings with artists who talk about themselves by interspersing words with a musical part that can be minimal, intimate, but in some cases richer, interviewed by Enrico Deregibus. But this year there will also be many appointments that will go beyond musical boundaries, touching theatre, cinema and literature.
All with free admission, without reservation, and in places between the hills, rice fields and the Po, in Monferrato, a territory that has become a UNESCO heritage site for some years, and around Monferrato, an hour from Turin, Milan and Genoa.

The “PeM Festival – Words and Music in Monferrato” makes use of the artistic direction of Enrico Deregibus with the collaboration of Riccardo Massola, creator of the event in 2007.
The festival has now become a point of reference in the Italian musical and cultural panorama, as evidenced by the attention of the national press and the artists who participated in it, names such as Enrico Ruggeri, Diodato, Malika Ayane, Nada, Samuel, Roy Paci, Zen Circus, Tosca, Motta, Vittorio De Scalzi, Ghemon, Frankie hi-nrg mc, Luca Barbarossa, Irene Grandi, Giovanni Truppi, Marina Rei, Bobby Solo, Davide Van De Sfroos, Francesco Bianconi, Ex-Otago, Erica Mou, Ensi, Giorgio Conte, Massimo Bubola, Francesco Baccini, Ricky Gianco, Paolo Bonfanti, Pino Marino, Zibba, Francesca Incudine, Carlo Massarini and, in non-musical fields, Guido Catalano, Ernesto Ferrero, Luca Sofri, Franco Arminio, Rosetta Loy, Gianluigi Beccaria, Natalino Balasso, Guido Davico Bonino, Anita Caprioli, Giuseppe Cederna, Fabio Troiano, Bruno Gambarotta.

Artistic director Enrico Deregibus declares: “The festival has grown a lot, in size and visibility, and this is obviously a great satisfaction for me. Just as it is a great satisfaction to be able to bring artists I believe in, more or less known and from various backgrounds. Alongside the now classic meetings with artists that characterize the festival, this year there will be other formats, always with the idea of offering something special, unique or at least rare. We are opening up even more than before to cinema, theatre, literature, giving more space to young proposals. Always with the intention of making this beautiful area known even to those who don’t know it”.
