The Cinematheque offers a “film” program

This 2022, the Cinematheque closes the programming in a special way with the Cycle “Pop-80s: a trip to other worlds”, where the selection of films will allow us to return to the eighties through this exhibition that focuses on fantastic cinema and science fiction, which will make viewers rethink the current world, which was the future of that time. This sample will bring a compilation of 10 exciting and nostalgic feature films.

For the rest of this end of the year, the Recreational Holidays arrive, which will take place from until December 7. The agenda of activities will be made up of workshops, film clubs, film readings, projections and experiences for all ages. Sala Rayito, the space of the Bogota Cinematheque for early childhood led by Nidos, will have attention tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

In addition, the Colombian film program includes titles such as “La frontera” by David David, “La roya” by Juan Sebastián Mesa, “María Salvaje” by Liliana Sayuri Matsuyama Hoyos, “Salvador” by César Heredia and “Hijos del viento” by Felipe Monroy. International premieres will screen “Aftersun” by Charlotte Wells.

For the little ones, the Children’s Strip presents Nickelodeon’s “Paw Patrol” and in the Youth Strip: “Seuls”, directed by David Moreau. In addition, in the Vive Strip the Cinematheque will exhibit “Sinú. Afromomemories of death” and “Afromomemories of the Caribbean: spirituality and death in Manuel Zapata Olivella” by Peter Rondón Vélez.



For the followers of the Local Strip, the program “Distopian City” will be presented, which brings together five short films entitled: “Distortion”, “The last ones”, “Journey to the heart of the world”, “5500 soles” and “Santiago”, which They were carried out in the towns of Chapinero, Santa Fe, La Candelaria, Kennedy, Fontibón, Engativá, Suba, Teusaquillo, Antonio Nariño, Puente Aranda, San Cristóbal and Usme.

In the same way, there will be a series of special functions where the public will be able to see “Farewell to the language of Jean-Luc Godard”, on the occasion of the commemoration of his birth”; “Day With(out) Art 2022: program of short films Being and Belonging”, to commemorate the World Day of the Fight against AIDS; “From the gesture to the gaze”, cinema about art in Colombia, winner of the Bogotá Research Grant, a space for the arts; and “Everyone is dying here”. , by Ali Gardoki from KUIR Bogotá (International Queer Art and Film Festival).

And the Memory Strip presents “Our voice of land, memory and future” by Marta Rodríguez and Jorge Silva. The functions will have free access and some will have the presence of the director.

The first Season of Expanded Animation, led by the MediaLab of the Cinematheque, which is completing its training process around animation aimed at all audiences, will have videomapping and video installation workshops and the exhibition of the results of the 16mm Laboratory: writing with light and vibration in movement, a space for experimentation for the production of images and sounds on film, magnetic and digital cinematographic supports that will be used in the staging of a performative work that will be exhibited at the Bogotá Cinematheque.

The December session “Data and Stories” is entitled “Kinemancia: other machines for other cinemas” with Jorge Luis Crowe, an audiovisual artist, educator and technological developer, who in this meeting will tell attendees about his creative journey around the work “Kinemancia”, in which he has explored this way of linking as a possibility of creating other relationships with objects.

The exhibition “An uncertain pleasure”, organized by the Bogotá Cinematheque in association with the Bogotá Museum of Modern Art, continues until January 29 at the Cinemateca Gallery. And until January 29, 2023 in Room E there will be the exhibition “Encounters: Sarah Maldoror in Latin America and the Caribbean”, which consists of an exhibition project focused on the audiovisual work of the filmmaker Sarah Maldoror. These exhibitions will have guided tours and mediations.

The Library Specialized in Cinema and Audiovisual Media presents two special activities: “Cineclub Libro al Viento”, dedicated to between the pages and frames of the book “Isolated warmth”, and a “Film Readings” entitled “Itinerary of the drift: tours towards some new intuitions of cinematographic language in Colombian cinema”.
