It is a story of control and sexual abuse, against a backdrop of voodoo spirituality. Maurice C.* will appear this Tuesday, October 11, 2022 before the court of Bobigny (Seine-Saint-Denis) for acts of incestuous rape committed on his stepdaughter.

Ten years of ordeal

The facts date back to 2010. Jessica*, aged about twelve at the time, met her mother’s new companion, Maurice C. The latter, a voodoo priest, officiated in the basement of his home in Seine-Saint-Denis. Quickly, the man explains to his companion that “so that his daughter does not turn out badly and in order to save her life”, he must give her a child. Then begins a real ordeal for the young girl.

According to elements of the file consulted by news Seine-Saint-Denis, for more than ten years, Jessica is abused. Over the course of these rapes, the victim gets pregnant and had many miscarriages, before giving birth to a boy. At the same time, the young woman must do all the household chores of the man who requires her to call him “master”. “Women should be the wife, the friend, the lover, the mother and the whore of men” the accused would have told him. On the victim’s shoulder, a mark consisting of three vertical lines made with a scalpelsignifying his total belonging to the voodoo priest.

Skulls and penis pump

Jessica’s mother will also be on the dock, prosecuted for complicity in incestuous rape. The latter was indeed present during certain rapes suffered by her daughter. During the searches, a letter written in her hand and signed in her blood is found, in which she gives her authorization to the accused to have a child with her daughter. With relatives, friends or at school, no one suspects a thing.

In the wake of the investigation, the home of the accused is searched by the police. The macabre and the sordid intermingle in the cellar where Maurice C. received his clients and abused his stepdaughter: human bones including three skulls, machetes or women’s underwear and penis pumps. Videos of mutilation of corpses and others of a sexual nature are also found by the investigators.

Finally, it was the violence committed on Jessica’s son by the accused that led the victim to contact the authorities in 2020. Maurice C. allegedly burned the child’s finger and asked Jessica’s mother to remove it. mutilate the genitals. To the police, the victim told everything, explaining that he had no social contact or financial independence. Examined by psychiatrists, it is detected post-traumatic disorders.

Reports “consented” according to the accused

Questioned by investigators, the accused denied the facts with which he is accused, explaining that he had only once had consensual sex with the victim when she was of age. He finally conceded to having been in a relationship with the victim and having had several sexual relations with her. The latter said he had saved the victim’s life and his mother.

The hearing is supposed to run until October 14, 2022.
