Today, Wednesday 14 December at 20.00 the opening night of the thirteenth edition of Intimalente Film Festival directed by Augusto Ferraiuolo and Pasquale Corrado, editor and directed by Rino Della Corte.
The 12 finalist films will be screened until Saturday 17 December at the Parravano Municipal Theater in Caserta, with many appointments, screenings and out-of-competition guests. Organized by the Municipality of Caserta in collaboration with Olà Fabbrica Creativa, the Festival also enjoys the patronage and contribution of the Campania Region and the Campania Film Commission, as well as the Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania.
From 8pm, three finalist films will be screened: “The Thorn Tree” by Irishman David Iab Bickley, which tells of a profound journey into the heart of Irish folklore. A story culled from the memories of school children in 1930s Ireland; “La Carovana Bianca” by the Italians Artemide Alfieri and Angelo Cretella, the story of a circus on the outskirts of Naples, where four circus families abandoned by the institutions are blocked in the hope that the pandemic will soon disappear as in a magic show; “None Died Here” by the Ecuadorian Ana Cristina Benitez, which narrates the ritual of the Day of the Dead in Telembí in Ecuador, a rite in which the souls of the ancestors are guided by animeros, who are spiritual guardians chosen by the community. And the audience will be the protagonist by voting for the best of the three cinematographic works. Guest of the evening the singer-songwriter Emanuele Ventriglia. Free entry.
“On behalf of the Intimalente working group – says Augusto Ferraiuolo – I feel I can say that we are absolutely satisfied with the assumptions of this thirteenth edition of the festival. On the one hand, the trend of international visibility is not only confirmed but clearly increasing, on the other hand the process of establishing local roots has reached an absolutely significant level. From this point of view, the choice to carry out an in-depth study of film themes with the Caserta schools has proved to be absolutely successful, and the making of two films is the ultimate proof of this. At the same time the presence of more than three thousand adhesions to our call, coming from all over the world, unequivocally demonstrates the prestige that the festival has achieved. It goes without saying that this level of both theoretical reflection and organization has become possible thanks to the concurrence of numerous factors. Thanks to the precious presence of the Campania Region – Film Commission and the Municipality of Caserta, which have been close to us for some time now, as well as a long list of supporters, the working group has grown and specialized. Therefore, the synergy between the institutional, organizational and methodological plans is the fundamental trait of a festival that I believe is today as today an important reality for the city and for the sector”.
