New TV Shows and Movies Arriving September 26 – October 2 | Pretty Reel

Ramy’s third run at Hulu is finally here.

From Friday, September 30, the streaming platform will launch season 3 of Ramy. The series is written, directed and produced by Youssef, who is also co-creator with Ari Katcher and Ryan Welch. Joining Youssef in the series are Mohammed Amer (Crashing), Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049), Amr Waked (Lucy), May Calamawy (The Long Road Home), Dave Merheje (We Are Disorderly), Laith Nakli (24: Legacy) and Steve Way. Season 2 also featured Oscar winner Mahershala Ali in a guest role as Sheikh Ali. Additionally, model Bella Hadid is making her acting debut in the upcoming season.

“He continues to bring a fresh perspective to the screen as he explores the challenges of what it’s like to be caught between a religious community that believes life is a moral test and a millennial that even doubts that ‘an afterlife exists,’ reads the synopsis. “In season three, his family is forced to come to terms with having lived a life dedicated to the concerns of the world – and in some cases, the lies – while Ramy all but abandons his spiritual journey, devoting himself instead to him and his uncle’s diamond business. »
