Note:
The large Refectory of the Monumental Complex of San Domenico Maggiore in Naples welcomes the new chapter of #LASCIAMIANDARE, the project / container by Monica Marioni (Conegliano Veneto, TV, 1972) which develops in an itinerary spread in various locations throughout the peninsula Italian.
After the preview at Villa Lysis in Capri and the stop at the Bunker in Caldogno (VI), #LASCIAMIANDARE returns to Campania, in one of the most evocative places in the Neapolitan city, thanks to the support and collaboration of the Municipality of Naples.

The project tells of the progressive regaining of one’s own judgment, of the correct perspective of oneself and of the world, at the end of a toxic relationship.
Starting from a personal experience, the project is divided into a corpus of works that have as their theme the emblematic psychological dynamics of emotional dependence.
The Neapolitan exhibition is included in the cultural programming of the Municipality of Naples and focuses on the sacred aspect of the works in relation to the space that welcomes them.

The exhibition itinerary set up inside the former refectory of the convent leads the visitor into an atmosphere full of spirituality. The exhibition describes the ideal baptism of the victim of abuse who, once freed from imprisonment and traveled the path of rebirth, has now come to new life.

A large highly symbolic light box opens the exhibition, recalling the liturgy of the first centuries of Christianity, when the bodies of catechumens were immersed in the baptismal font. Next, a “rose” of monitors represents the path of rebirth, through the artist’s recent performances.

The staging reaches its peak on the back wall of the majestic central aisle. On the entire wall, under the seventeenth-century fresco depicting the Last Supper, the performance entitled: The prey will be projected in which the images of the artist’s body, as in a metaphorical Via Crucis, will pass from one projection to another, thus creating a rhythm with an intense visual and emotional effect.

The project, curated by Maria Savarese, in collaboration with Maria Rosa Sossai, and Igor Zanti, and the contribution of the psychologist Stefano Di Carlo, will be completed with the last appointment in 2022, scheduled for early December at the Historical Archive Municipal of Palermo by Maria Rosa Sossai.
