The Israeli film and audiovisual industry responded enthusiastically to ANICA’s mission in Israel: through an intense program of meetings, the foundations for future all-out collaborations between the industries of the two countries were created. The mission – strongly desired by the President Francesco Rutelli and the President of the Union of Producers Benedetto Habib according to the wishes of the Ambassador of Italy in Tel Aviv Sergio Barbanti – is supported by the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture and by the Ministry of Development. It continued with the directors of the main Israeli film funding funds: Israel Film Fund, The Rabinovitch Foundation for Arts, The Gesher Multicultural Film Fund, The New Fund For Cinema and TV and The Makor Foundation. Given the relevance that writing and creating original projects have for these common perspectives, the meetings with the Chairman of the Israeli Producers Association and the Writers Guild of Israel were of particular importance, as well as those with some of the major broadcasters operating in globally – as Keshet Media Group. Of great importance was the meeting with Isaac Ben Israel – father of the Israeli Cybersecurity system – on the issues that globalization has brought with it and the challenges that digital technologies will have to face in the near future.
