Appointment of the Symphony Pop Festival with the Rossini Orchestra at the Malatesta Fortress

FANO (PU) – Pop music in a symphonic key for another great appointment with the Symphony Pop Festival, the concert review organized by the G. Rossini Symphony Orchestra. Saturday 9 July 2022, at 9.15 pm, at the Rocca Malatestiana in Fano it will be the turn of “In the Name of Love. U2, between rock and spirituality “.

An extraordinary evening for a project shared by the Rossini Orchestra and Rimini Classica. The voices of Clarissa Vichi and Filippo Malatesta will be accompanied by the rock band and a string and brass orchestra, for an exciting journey of all the most famous songs of the most important rock band in the world. Narrator of the evening don Marco Foschi, for a rock / spiritual journey that will excite, highlighting the spirituality of the U2 songs, thanks to the texts of Father Natale Brescianini.

Carlo Piermartire has signed the arrangements for this cross-sound concert, Rossini’s signature style.

Clarissa Vichi she is a singer, songwriter, vocal coach and performer. Born in Pesaro, she has been passionate about music since she was a child, Clarissa’s voice sings soul, funk, blues, gospel naturally and in a personal way, crossing pop, musical, rock and new jazz. You have considerable experience in live and in musicals: important productions alongside Katia Ricciarelli, signed by Franco Miseria; Musical specialist diploma in the school of Rossana Casale (LIM in Rome); the lead role in “Chicago. The Musical “. She appears on TV as a vocalist and collaborates with musicians such as Maurizio Fabrizio for record productions. She gets recognition as a singer-songwriter with her songs (Giovagnini Award, D’Aponte Award, Bim Music Network, Sanremo Area) in Italy and abroad (New York Italian Song Festival). Since 2016 she is the female vocalist of the Rossini Symphony Orchestra, currently she collaborates with the conductor Roberto Molinelli for Italian and foreign productions (Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra) and with the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra. In parallel to her activity as a singer she teaches singing and is a vocal coach (schools and national singing competitions including Tour Music Fest).

Filippo Malatesta, born Filippo Baschetti, is a singer-songwriter originally from Verucchio, in the province of Rimini. He founded his first group in 1984, I Fibra with which he performs on covers by U2, Simple Minds and Lucio Battisti. In 1990, during a concert, he is noticed by Patrizia Rabitti (who later will be the creator of her stage name) who introduces him to her husband, Mario Flores, owner of Heaven Studios, an important recording studio based in Rimini. He thus began a period of auditions with record companies in Milan, until in 1992 he recorded his first album “The daughter of the king”.

In 1992 the first television appearance in the program Canzoniere dell’estate also arrives. In the following years he was a regular guest in Red Ronnie’s “Roxy Bar” program and began a tour that touches clubs all over Italy. In 1994 he recorded, in San Francisco, the second album, “Malatesta”, with the producer Corrado Rustici, producer of Zucchero Fornaciari and Elisa. In 1994 he took part in the program “Un disco perestate” in Riccione. In 1997, after producing “Il re delle tre”, he left the record company Visa Records. In 2000 he wrote for Syria the song “Cento giorni” which is part of the album “Come una Goccia di acqua”.

In 2019, after 15 years from his latest album “Giramondo”, his new work “Sopra la powder” released by the Rimini label Yourvoice Records comes out, containing two unreleased songs and new arrangements of his most famous pieces. During the lockdown period Filippo Malatesta records his new unreleased album entitled “Biutifullove”. Anticipated by the single “Giulia” in July 2020, the entire album was released in December of the same year.
