THE SAGA OF ‘SANDAHLIA’

A literary, theatrical and cinematographic project

With the second volume of the literary project “Sandahlia” published by ‘La Città degli Dei’, the great success (public and critical) that Stefano Piroddi’s project is enjoying continues. The saga, which takes place mainly in the late Nuragic era of the century BC, opens a suggestive window on an Epoch (the pre-Christian era) and on a People (the Ancient Sardinian one) in which the perfect balance was found between Man, Nature and the Cosmos.

In such a context, the Woman was obviously the central figure, as a natural living representation of the Feminine Principle of the Cosmos, i.e. that set of Imagination, Creative Madness, Magic and Mystical Spirituality which permeated every aspect of the World and of Life, and which allowed the conservation of harmony.

The war with Rome, the bearer of a strongly bureaucratic and leveling imperial vision, was inevitable: it lasted centuries and unfolded – very hard – over eleven major conflicts, but the Sardinians, in the end, turned out to be the only Mediterranean people to be neither militarily defeated nor culturally dominated. This extraordinary Clash of Civilizations (the largest in the ancient world) is the true great protagonist of the Sandahlia Saga, in which the deeds of Women and Men relive inspired by a Poetic Vision of existence, and capable of making their own Life a Artwork.

The saga is preparing for internationalization, through the forthcoming English translation of the first book of the trilogy, ‘Sandahlia- The two faces of the soul’.

The ‘Sandahlia’ project also extends into the illustration sector through the Graphic Novel ‘A Dance of Love and Death’, and also foresees further developments in the theater and film sector, which are managed by the film and art production company ARMENI GES productions.
