[Humeur] Yes CNews talked about the devil. So what ?

“The devil’s finest trick is to convince you that he doesn’t exist”, wrote Charles Baudelaire. Had he triggered such a stir in public opinion? Or could we still express ourselves freely without risking the culture of erasure? You have to see the controversy aroused by the show “Searching for the Spirit” presented, last Sunday, by our colleague Aymeric Pourbaix, on CNews. On the occasion of Saint Michael’s Day, celebrated on September 29, this spiritual program was devoted to angels and demons and, consequently, to combats against the forces of evil. Nothing incoherent for those who still have a residue of religious culture or vague memories of their catechism of yesteryear. For the others, frightened virgins, we can only advise them to go see the side of Mont Saint-Michel to refresh their memory as to the Christian roots (caution: big word) of our country or revise their definition of this word – suitcase that they only have in their mouths and most of the time misuse: sacrosanct secularism…

For three days, the twittosphere has been going after the most violent way possible, there are no words harsh enough to criticize the program and, as long as you do, “the little round glasses and the glossy brown tie of the presenter”, it’s easy, it does not eat bread, and especially behind, the devil Bolloré and a blow left the fundamentalists! Thereby Release title with great class on the “cult obsessed” and ironically “As if CNews produced its own parody” ; evokes a presenter “ingenuous” or even a “blessed ass Manichaeism”. By the way, Christine Kelly and Charlotte d’Ornellas take it for their rank. The link with the show? None, but it’s a relief to knock on a free chain. For the pluralism of ideas, we will come back! For MarianneAlso, the pill is hard to digest. Without ever falling into caricature (« In search of spirit gives in uninhibited Catholic proselytism, mass trend in Latin and “a dad, a mom” »), the journalist stigmatizes “those who believe in hell and heaven in the first degree”. Damn! Where is living together and respect for each other’s beliefs? Véronique Jacquier is mocked when she underlines “that we live in a world where the notion of sin no longer exists”. Could she be wrong, but the confessionals would be overwhelmed, which, unless I am mistaken, is far from being the case. So ? Same fight on Twitter with a few examples that smack of tolerance and freedom of thought:

The environmentalist senator of “”French.es” from abroad fears for her ” Mental Health “ and for those who want to live “in a democracy, in a secular republic” :

Surprisingly (or not), the latter has still not spoken out to denounce the programs “Islam” and “Buddhist Wisdoms”, both broadcast on the same day… on a public channel! Hypocrisy of this well-meaning society which celebrates Halloween, revels in Harry Potter, watches exorcism films to play at being scared but cries out in horror when they are told about demons. Another good excuse to laugh at Christians. Never mind: for two thousand years, they have started to have tough skin.
