Fra Flavio Roberto Carraro and Padre Pio

September 9, 1963 is called to be secretary of the apostolic administrator of the province of the Capuchins of Foggia, Father Clemente of Santa Maria in Punta. During this time he meets several times Padre Pio of Pietrelcina: “One day I asked him if he accepted me among his spiritual children. Padre Pio answered me with a question: “Isn’t it that the son will then cause the Father to be dishonored? So I replied: “It also depends on the Father not to let the child lack the necessary help in times of need”. Padre Pio looked at me almost scrutinizing me in his eyes and added: “Go, go, there will be help”. “Thank you Father” I replied quietly happy. Never has that word “Father” had such a concrete meaning for me as it did then. I hope I have not dishonored him, indeed I am sure of this, only because his help has never been lacking ”.
