Diary

Following the First Forum which took place in Pont en Royans (France) from May 25 to 29, 2022, the Second Forum will take place in Geneva supported by three Museums: Museum of Natural History, Ethnographic Museum and Botanical Garden.

Trees are inseparable from life on earth, and remain our last chance in the face of a climate and more generally ecological crisis that is racing. The preservation of forests, their rehabilitation, their extension with in particular the introduction of tree systems in agricultural areas and the revegetation of cities, are becoming one of the planetary challenges of the years and decades to come.

Paradoxically, deforestation is accelerating while never in human history have we become so aware of the importance of trees and forests, their benefits on the climate, biodiversity and the health of populations, in cities. like in the countryside.

The latest scientific discoveries on plant communication come into astonishing adequacy with certain traditional knowledge of the Peoples called “ First “. This convergence of sciences and traditions raises questions about the modes of acquisition of knowledge in humanity. Moreover, certain natural entities are beginning to benefit from a legal status that is essential for the maintenance of their integrity. Trees and forests can then inspire us. They hold solutions for the world of tomorrow.

The International Forums of Trees and People propose to create a Tree-Human synergy generating wealth in all areas: environmental, agricultural, social, cultural, economic, educational, health and spiritual.
