DanzEstate Junior 2022 Festival, games and workshops as well as shows

Art and culture en plein air with the DanzEstate Junior 2022 Festival organized by ASMED / Balletto di Sardegna with the artistic direction of Massimiliano Leoni: four days of creative and musical workshops, games and shows for girls and boys from Wednesday 15 June until Saturday June 18 at the Public Gardens of Cagliari but also “surprise” forays by artists in the parks and gardens of the city with the original Promenades designed for Waiting for DanzEstate.

THE WORKSHOPS – A dense book of events made to measure for very young people (and families) which will go live starting Wednesday 15 June (every morning from 10 to 12 and in the afternoon starting from 16) between the creation of “Dinosaur Fossils “And” Dinosaur Eggs “- but a fabulous” Dino-Kit “could not be missing, complete with” tailor-made “crests, scales and claws and there is also the” Bronto-Mosaico “, the precious” Fossil Amulet “and “Prehistoric Landscapes” all to be imagined – in the company of Tore l’AnimaTore (for girls and boys aged 3 to 6). “Danzando con le note” is the theme and title of the Creative Music and Dance Laboratory by the percussionist and compasitor Marco Caredda and the dancer and choreographer Sara Pischedda, where budding artists can have fun inventing rhythms and small choreographies (age 7- 12 years). The workshop proposed by Ersilia Danza and directed by dancers and choreographers (and dance teachers) Alberto Munarin and Elena Regno, on the other hand, is called “Look and Try” for a playful and creative approach to dance, through body language and movement ( age 6-11 years).

THE SHOWS – The DanzEstate Junior 2022 Festival also offers a rich and interesting program for the four days from 15 to 18 June, from the original “Pinocchio on the road” by Con.Cor.DA / Movimentoinactor, conceived, directed and performed by Flavia Buccero, on stage with Leila Ghiabbi, Fausto Paparozzi and Pauline Manfredi, for a pop reinterpretation of the adventures of the famous puppet (Wednesday 15 June – 4 pm) at “Encanto” by the Estemporada Company with choreography by Livia Lepri, inspired by the namesake Disney film (Oscar for best animated film) about the Madrigal family who lives in a small village in the mountains of Colombia, among magical houses and special “talents” (Wednesday 15 June – 16.20). “Neverland” in Versiliadanza (Wednesday 15 June – 5.45 pm) is inspired by the story of Peter Pan for an ideal journey with the child who did not want to grow up and his Wendy on “the island there isn’t” between pirates and sirens, fairies and the inevitable crocodile while “Bianca e Rossa” by ASMED / Ballet of Sardinia with dramaturgy and direction by Senio Giovanni Barbaro Dattena brings to the stage “The love of the three pomegranates”, the famous folk tale narrated in “Lo cunto de li cunti “by Giambattista Basile, with a fantastic plot between love and magic (Wednesday 15 June – 7 pm)

Journey into the world of Gianni Rodari with “A mistaking the stories” by Ersilia Danza (Thursday 16 June – 5 pm) in the company of Giovanni Perdigiorno and Alice, known as “Cascherina” then “Il Vento e la Fanciulla” by ASMED / Balletto di Sardinia (Thursday 16 June – 6.15 pm), a modern fairy tale inspired by the legends of Mongolia between the kidnapping of a princess and the enterprise of a brave prince, the perfidy of a necromancer and the saving intervention of a mysterious and mythological creature … but above all the voice of the wind. Between poetry and philosophy with “Little Something – in the Paris metro” by Twain / Centro di Produzione Danza (Friday 17 June – 5 pm), winning show of I Teatri del Sacro 2017, inspired by the homonymous story by François Garagnon, on research of spiritual values ​​necessary to face “the chaos of life”, in a metaphorical and fantastic key, while Il Crogiuolo proposes “La capretta di Maria” (Friday 17 June – 6.30 pm), a play freely inspired by the work of Maria Lai with conceived and directed by Rita Atzeri, to bring the little ones closer to the languages ​​of art, in a dreamlike dimension, between fantastic tales and childhood memories.

Three versions of the famous fairy tale in “Little Red Riding Hood / Once upon a time there was the wolf and the girl” by the Atacama Company (Saturday 18 June – 4.30 pm), a creation by Patrizia Cavola and Ivan Truol that explores the symbolic meanings of crossing the forest, between danger, disobedience and self-knowledge, then “The box of ideas” by ArtMouv (Corsica), a performance by and with Hélène Taddei Lawson and Juha Peka Marsalo (Saturday 18 June – 5.45 pm) to «build a world of peace, friendship, sharing “. The DanzEstate Junior 2022 Festival ends in style with two productions of the “hosts” – the ASMED / Ballet of Sardinia: the enchanting “Io, Pinocchio” by Marco Nateri, with music by Marco Caredda and choreography by Sara Pischedda, also protagonist on the scene next to the very young Riccardo Zoccheddu, to rediscover the wonder and innocent gaze of childhood (Saturday 18 June – 7 pm), and the irreverent “Look Parade” (Saturday 18 June – 8.45 pm) by and with Sara Pischedda and Luca Castellano, which evokes the atmosphere of the Eighties, between sensuality and hedonism: «a free, colorful, light-hearted, unconscious world, in the name of aesthetic perfection, narcissism» to rediscover the taste for the ephemeral.

GAMES – There is also space for games and competitions, to try your hand at target shooting and have fun with soap bubbles.

Among the novelties the DanzEstate Card which guarantees a front row seat for all the shows with a special reserved cushion (up to 10 minutes before the start) as well as a gadget of your choice between t-shirt or bag, and even a portion of pop corn and cotton candy a day.

The DanzEstate Junior 2022 Festival is organized by the ASMED / Ballet of Sardinia and realized with the contribution of the MiC / Ministry of Culture, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Municipality of Cagliari and the Foundation of Sardinia.

The festival that anticipates spring offers intriguing variations on ancient and modern fairy tales, from “Little Red Riding Hood” to “The love of the three pomegranates” to the original “The wind and the girl”, alongside the adventures of Pinocchio and Peter Pan and stories invented by Gianni Rodari, including literary and cinematographic references as in “Encanto”. A Festival suitable for girls and boys – starting from three years of age – with targeted workshops inspired for this edition by prehistory and in particular by the huge (but basically nice) dinosaurs transforms us for four days – from 15 to 18 June – the Public Gardens of Cagliari in an open-air theater, an enchanted space in which to rediscover the pleasure of contact with nature.
