“Countries that go …” of June 26 on Rai 1: stop in Rieti with San Francesco

Advances for “Countries that go …” of 26 June at 9.40 on Rai 1: stop in Rieti in the footsteps of San Francesco

“Countries that go…”, broadcast on Sunday 26 June at 9.40 on Rai 1, makes a stop in Rieti, in the footsteps of San Francesco. A story that explores the Rieti territory, going – in addition to the Franciscan sanctuaries – to the landscape views of Rocca Sinibalda, Posticciola, Colle di Tora and the suggestive Turano Lake.

Livio Leonardi, creator and host of the program, leads the audience into the heart of Rieti, considered by the authors of the classical age Umbilicus Italiae, that is, the geographical center of Italy. Around the city of ancient origins, however, lives a sweet and luxuriant nature, full of quiet and spirituality.

Here St. Francis found serene refuge from the vanity of the world and made it, together with Assisi and La Verna, one of his three homelands. The sanctuaries of the “Valle Santa” – La Foresta, Fonte Colombo, Greccio and Poggio Bustone – are illustrated with the usual engaging and curiosity-rich cut, under the banner of the message of the poor man of Assisi.

And precisely in line with this message, the ideal dialogue with Rieti nature leads to the wonderful scenery of Lake Turano: an ideal film and television setting for two dear friends of the Rai 1 audience, Lucio Dalla and Fabrizio Frizzi. The walk then ends in the presence of another landscape theater, the Salto Lake.
