Between the Arcachon basin and the Landes forest, Flo Delavega releases his first book in accordance with his deep nature

This fall 2022 marks the return of Flo Delavega but with a different hat. The ex-singer of the group Fréro Delavega, dissolved in 2017, has just been released On the way to dreams, a first book of intimate reflections on the world and nature. Six years after the separation of the group, he is definitely turning the page of his years alongside Jérémy Frérot.

It was in the Arcachon basin and in the Landes forest that Flo Delavega found the words to write her first book. After years of madness, he says he has found the serenity and calm necessary on the marine territory of his childhood.

After two albums and hundreds of concerts as a duo with Jérémy Frérot, Flo Delavega left everything in 2017 so as not to get lost. He then decides to return to his land of origin in Gironde. He encounters silence passing from one extreme to the other: from media madness to living independently in the heart of the Landes forest. “The time of the Fréro was not all tumult, tension and pain, it was great too, I lived incredible moments. But here, I experienced peace, calm and silence with a lot of intensity and I got an inner peace that I didn’t suspect”, he confides.

Completing this writing project allowed him to approach other facets of his personality and explore his drawing skills. He himself created the entire graphic universe and designed the illustrations that adorn the 160 pages. “There was really a desire for authenticity, I think that with this book we are quite close to who I am today”, reveals Flo Delavega.

I write to you from this place where dreams are born, from this magical moment just before daybreak. As if out of necessity, I am writing to you right in the middle of my life journey. I am writing to you as if to take stock, to understand, transmit and testify”.

On the way to dreams

At 35, Florian approaches this new stage of his life with words on paper. Matured for nearly five years, this first book is somewhat the continuity of his solo album dreamer forever released in the spring of 2021. An introspective and radiant record composed while strolling in nature, absorbed in the contemplation of flora and fauna.

On the way to dreams recount the new life of Flo Delavega, his questions about the world as a form of meditation and inner reflection. “I share a bit of the practices that have helped me to connect, to open my eyes to myself, to be able to deconstruct all the things that we have learned and that limit us, but obviously everyone finds their way and the way to follow his dreams”he assures.

The singer addresses those who followed him, those who perhaps did not understand the break with Fréro Delavega. “I am writing to share my experience with you, no doubt because I need this elevation, because I am convinced that the more the world opens up to its spirituality, the more it will be just, but also and above all because you are part of my path. You have helped to make it ‘extra-ordinary’“, he writes in the foreword.
