ASIA/PAKISTAN – “Disciples and missionaries to proclaim the love of God”: the vocation of the young people of “Jesus Youth”

Ayubia (Agenzia Fides) – “To be young Catholics means to be young missionary disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are called to carry out a mission of healing and renewal of life. We are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, we go to our young peers with great zeal and dedication to proclaim God’s love and mercy, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, to be a helping hand for them, to accompany them so that they grow and live the Catholic faith”, said Father Qaisar Feroz OFM Cap, national chaplain of the ecclesial movement “Jesus Youth International” (JYI), in its Pakistani branch, at the end of a recent training seminar of a week entitled “Lead 2022: Discipleship training Programme”, organized in Ayubia.
The program included the “Cours Philippe”, an experience of formation in evangelization which, starting from the six points of the Kerygma, aims to help new members of the movement to make a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, the starting point of the assignment.
Ayyaz Gulzar, Jesus Youth Pakistan Coordinator, welcoming the participants said, “We thank God for another group of young people joining Jesus Youth International. This week is a huge blessing and a time for us to meet our Lord Jesus- Christ, to welcome him as our Lord and Saviour. God calls us by name. And God calls us to serve in his vineyard as young missionary disciples of his Son Jesus Christ.”
Jesus Youth,” the coordinator explained, “is not just a lay Catholic movement, “but it is a way of life, it is a nursery for the formation of lay people for the Church and society.” After the movement was approved by the Holy See in 2016, it is growing in Pakistan, he said.

Jesus Youth International ( is a lay Catholic movement currently spread in more than 40 countries in the world, in the continents of Asia, Africa, Europe, America, Australia. The JY movement also has groups active in Middle Eastern countries, particularly in the United Arab Emirates.
