Ashley Judd talks about the sad suicide of her mother

The actress has become an activist against those who disqualify people for their physical appearance, and has become an activist who encourages Overweight people. But she is pursued by bad luck, because after the suicide of her mother, she suffered a broken leg. Now, she has spoken about all these matters in an online conversation, which is part of the series of lectures and talks open mind Organized by Friends of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA.

Naomi, mother of Ashley Judd, died on April 30 after shooting herself in her Tennessee home, which she shared with Larry Strickland, her husband. Ashley had previously revealed – in an interview for good morning america– that she was the one who discovered her mother shortly after her death, because she had come to the house in search of Wi-Fi, after losing internet due to a breakdown. She assures that she turned to spirituality to get ahead, and that she considers herself lucky, because at all times she has had people by her side to lean on. “The day my beloved mother committed suicide, I had many people to call. There were five women who were with me moments after I shared that tragic news with them, so I consider them my sisters,” he recalls. “I woke up at two in the morning, but how there was always someone with me at my house.” Apparently her partner, Martin Surbeck, was in Europe, but he quickly caught a flight to return to her.

Luckily, he healed from the injury he sustained within two months. Clumsiness is associated with pain,” says Ashley Judd. “There were other people in our family, after Mom died, who fell down stairs and had accidents, and something similar happened to me. It really allowed me to cry. It really allowed me to stop what I was doing at the time and cry.”

Ashley Judd explains that she is going through a delicate moment because six months have passed since the tragic news. “My sister, the singer Wynonna Judd, was scheduled to tour with our mother, who she has been collaborating with for a long time. I am going to see two of her concerts this weekend, which generates a lot of deep shock, both joy and sadness I feel centered thanks to morning meditation.”

Also, Ashley Judd talked about her physical appearance. “I’ve put on some weight and I’m sure people are talking about it, but I don’t pay attention to it because I know it’s a temporary condition and I’ll lose weight when I’m supposed to. It’s none of my business what people think of me,” she said. “I seem to be in good health, but I know that misogyny is a real thing in our culture. You try to be a woman who was once very fit but is now 54 and gaining weight. That’s going to spark some very sexist conversations between men and women in our culture.”
