Armonie d’Arte Festival in Serra San Bruno: the details of the event

Three evenings full of music and talent, in the evocative scenery of Santa Maria del Bosco in Serra San Bruno: Armonie d’Arte Festival traces new Mediterranean routes, bringing the narrative of “transits”, the theme of the 22nd edition, to the central belt of Calabria. Serra San Bruno, therefore, as a stage of the Norman passage and a place rich in spirituality and nature to frame three events capable of combining different musical styles.

It starts on August 10, the night of the stars, with a tribute to Lucio Dalla in the tenth anniversary of his death: it will be Pierdavide Carone, who shared the experience with Dalla at the Sanremo festival in 2012, to revisit the repertoire of the great Bolognese artist; alongside him the soprano d’arte Silvia Colombini, while the scores will be entrusted to the Bulgaria Classic symphony orchestra conducted by maestro Leonardo Quadrini.

On the 11th the Cremona Quartet will be staged, one of the most prestigious string ensembles on the international scene, with Cristiano Gualco and Paolo Andreoli on the violin, Simione Gramaglia on the viola and Giovanni Scaglione on the cello.

Grand finale on August 16 with the concert for peace by Israeli-born singer Noa, who has a deep bond with Italy and in 1997 sang “Beautiful that Way”, a song inspired by the soundtrack of the Oscar-winning film La Vita è Bella by Roberto Benigni. The evening will also be an opportunity to celebrate her thirty-year career with her band.

To explain the spirit of the event is the mayor Alfredo Barillari, who underlines that “the carrying out of this Festival is a source of pride for our territory”.

“Our idea – explained the mayor in the presentation press conference – was to put Serra within a frame that would highlight art and history.

It is in this magical place that is Santa Maria del Bosco, the opportunity was given to us by the ‘Armonie d’Arte’ foundation ”.

The same artistic director of “Armonie d’Arte”, Chiara Giordano, focused on the role played by the territorial context: “we are in a place – she pointed out in particular – that tells of spirituality and nature. We tell the territory and think of places of particular value and that is why we are here in the beautiful setting of Santa Maria del Bosco. ‘Armonie d’Arte Festival’ is a long history of identity. After 22 years we have to make the Festival explode with respect to a larger territory and for this we have thought about the trajectory of the Norman Greenhouses. It is important to launch a territory with the Festival in the contexts of media attention.

I ask the community to be with us: art, in fact, has always been an instrument of defense against barbarism and a valid driving force for social progress ”.
