Next Saturday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m. at the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts, Juan Sánchez will inaugurate the exhibitions “Unfathomable” by Mónica Goldstein, “Gadgets” by Didier Cheuquel and “What the wait left me” by Alejandro Manriquez.
On this occasion, the MMBA Juan Sánchez, celebrating the 39th anniversary of the Museum and culminating this year’s exhibition season, receives two renowned regional artists and a renowned artist with a great career at a national and international level.
These are three proposals in which works of contemporary art can be seen in various modes of representation: intervened photography, digital art, drawings, artist’s books and paintings.
*UNFATHOMABLE BY MÓNICA GOLDSTEIN: it is a proposal that goes through different techniques and materials in a work full of spirituality with themes related to nature, time, the universe, giving the viewer the opportunity to enter the unfathomable so that as a human being he continues asking questions about existence. Goldstein, a native of Buenos Aires, has an important artistic career in which her participation in salons, biennials, Artist Book Museums such as Alfredo Portillos, exhibitions in the country and abroad stand out.
*DIDIER CHEUQUEL GADGETS: shows from drawings that represent something useless, subtly thought and created from chaos, that which is in the mental turmoil that has a difficult use, and even does not have one. Through the use of materials such as the pen, it refers to the simple, the immediate, the usefulness of a resource available to anyone. Cheuquel is a native of Mendoza and raised in Cutral Co. He began his artistic training at IUPA and then at UNA. He obtained prizes and mentions in Salons and Contests, participated in collective and individual exhibitions. He made sculptures for public spaces in Plaza Huincul and Fernández Oro (Monument to the pioneers).
*“LO QUE LA ESPERA DEJÓ ME” BY ALEJANDRO MANRIQUEZ: is a series of paintings initiated during the social confinement that we had to go through in 2020 and reflects between dishes, characters, tables, dogs, cats, cows, stories that do not lose self-referentiality .
Everyday scenes, wrapped in a particular climate, that transcend the passage of time. Manriquez is a native of Centenario, and his taste for art began at an early age. His professional career was developed in Buenos Aires, Córdoba and finally settled in the Valley where he currently resides. In addition to devoting himself to painting, he has worked as a graphic illustrator and is a teacher at IUPA and UNRN.
The exhibitions can be visited from Monday, November 7, in the morning from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and in the afternoon on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursdays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
