A dozen dreamlike paintings & codified rolls

The pictorial works of Amaya EGUIZABAL are exhibited at the Hostellerie de la Tour from September 1 to 18, 2022. Made in oil paint, they take on a diluted, even washed-out appearance, hence the choice of the title Peintures diluviennes. This exhibition is the fourth of the summer, it closes the NATURE EN LIVRES 2022 festival.

Amaya EGUIZABAL has been working in Paris since the 1990s, when she obtained her Fine Arts degree in Madrid. She has also long taught art history and plastic arts for students at La Générale in Montreuil.
– Barely arrived on the landing, we are already bathing in a form of transcendental spirituality, the colors used and the subjects evoked appear strongly inspired by nature, as coming from a post-symbolist current, like the Nabis. The artist seems detached from any type of formalism, she uses a dominance of flat tints, all in pastel tones.
– The ten paintings exhibited encourages daydreaming while arousing a kind of melancholy – active. Is it linked to the prior production by the artist of his own supports: frames, canvases and coatings?
– In parallel the scrolls embedded in their glazed boxes introduce us to another type of pictorial reading. These long fabrics dotted with texts and characters evoke ancient manuscripts whose artistic universe is already colored with timelessness!

Amaya EGUIZABAL is referenced in the Netherlands, in Japan, in Paris, in Madrid and recently in the Bourgogne Nivernaise, where she now has a workshop. She is also part of the Collectif Morvan Artistique, her original textile productions and creations can be found at Atelier 62 located in Avallon and in her house-workshop in the village of Anthien, in the Nivernais-Morvan region.
