Book: I am an Owl, a journey of knowledge

The book was written by Juan Carlos Torres and is published by Grupo Editorial Planeta

What is it all about? How does the mysterious gear of existence work? What is the plan behind the seemingly isolated and chaotic scenes of our lives? These have been the philosophical and existential questions that all humans share and that remain unresolved. To get closer to an answer, we must move away from the world we dream of inhabiting and the drama we imagine living, distance ourselves from the character we think we are and contemplate the whole picture, not just a tiny part. In other words, connect the dots.

That’s what he does Owlspiritual author of this book, and what Juan Carlos Torres, his alter ego, has sought during several years of inquiries, trips and encounters, with the help of sacred medicines, such as yagé or ayahuasca, iboga, huachuma, the kambo and the bufo, in addition to hypnotic therapies and a forty-day pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. An exploration supported by the ancestral practices and knowledge of the native peoples.

This book is the chronicle of that search and of the discoveries that changed the life of its author, just as they can change those of its readers. It is the diary of a journey —a journey of knowledge— into our immortal Being: the collective ONE that brings us together and reveals us.

A key. This is not a novel. This is not a literary creation. This is not a fiction to distract us from the puzzling truth —or wonderful— of existence. It is not a scientific or scholarly treatise. It is not a story of perceptions. It is not a game—although it is part of a game. It is not entertainment anymore.

It is a testimony. A testimony and, at the same time, a key. A tiny key that can help crack the code of life. So, simply: a key to decipher the code of life. It can be read like a story, but it is not a story. Each narrated event, each scene of this work that is woven with the remnants of time, is based on reality: a reality that goes beyond —much beyond— of what we see and feel.

The reality of existence. Or said even better: the reality of the dream of existence. Here is the key. Take it and insert it into the little hole that opens all the mysteries. Or put it aside. It is her decision. ‘Cause sooner or later she’ll use it, like she did Juan Carlos Torres, author of the book.

It can be… NOW.

I am Owl: a journey of knowledge. Beyond titles or positions, literary awards or his other publications, what the author expresses in this work is the result of decades of study and interest in spiritual and esoteric themes, condensed in his magical and at the same time real experiences. all biography he becomes irrelevant in the face of the only phrase with which he would like to be described: an inquirer of the mysteries of the universe.

«In the end I didn’t care so much if it came from my ancestral memory or from my subconscious; it was relevant information that illuminated my path in this world and toward awakening.”
