The Collider reviewer assures that he had “trust“in the fact that james cameron know how to raise the bar with special effects. “But there, his visuals are just stunning. We discover one breathtaking image after another…”
As for the story, it’s A LOT of movie & I’m eager for a 2nd viewing to revisit some details, but on 1st watch, it’s a mighty effective exploration of community & family dynamics. Returning cast is great, but the newcomers are major standouts, particularly Britain Dalton as Lo’ak. pic.twitter.com/OtZXNr6zMw

For the specialized site Uproxx, the film is quite simply revolutionary from an aesthetic point of view: “I don’t want to be hyperbole, says the critic. But I’ve never seen anything like that on a technical level, special effects. It’s incredible. Sometimes even almost too much. We find ourselves glued to a Pandora fish and we miss a piece of history…“
Someone texted me, “what’s the most visually impressive part of the movie?” And I responded, “The whole thing honestly.”

All is not absolutely perfect, however. If the English reviewer of Digital Spy confirms that it is indeed a “breathtaking visual masterpiece”, he also believes thatAvatar 2 “suffers from a thin story and too many characters to handle. But james cameron manages to pull it all together in the end for an extraordinary final act full of emotion and heart-pounding action.”
Unsurprisingly, #AvatarTheWayOfWater is a visual masterpiece with rich use of 3D and breathtaking vistas. It does suffer from a thin story and too many characters to juggle, yet James Cameron pulls it together for an extraordinary final act full of emotion and thrilling action. pic.twitter.com/opr6CRyOwk

The reporter from The Wrap, he has definitely already seen The Way of the Water twice and he says to himself “overwhelmed by its technical mastery and surprisingly intimate emotional reach. Yes, the world is expanded and the sequels teased…but the characters are actually the most important. It’s james cameron is in top form, especially in the final act. It’s good to see him again!”

Have now seen #Avatar twice and am overwhelmed by both its technical mastery and unexpectedly intimate emotional scope. Yes the world is expanded and sequels teased but the characters are most important. Cameron is in top form, especially in final act. Good to have him back. 🐟 pic.twitter.com/PR9drN5Zph
