Art Z. Art as future historical heritage

The great stories of the artists who marked us have a beginning. It could be a humble store in Rosario, in the case of Antonio Berni, or the banks of the Riachuelo, in the first coals of Benito Quinquela Martin. Both cases counted in their career with friendly hands, spaces or inclusive and frank networks, which would collaborate so that their art is national pride. Adapted to 3.0 times, the free application Arte Z is presented as the new hotbed of what is called “future historical heritage”. Launching on December 15 at the Raggio Palace, in the old town, new potentialities of virtuality and face-to-face, they aim to increase everyone’s heritage.

Teresa Andrade, Peteco Carabajal, Mauro Jacobo and Jorge Opazo They are the first artists that integrate the growing offer of Arte Z, “what is new is the high participation of the public with the app”, highlights Jorge Cordero, one of those responsible for the technological tool for any variant of smartphone. “Develop a space for artists to express themselves, in accordance with this hyper-communicated climate of the time, and generate a message for the new generations. What you need to generate heritage is its creation and then its preservation, but dissemination is essential. This is a proposal for strong communication, spirituality and construction of intangible assets.”, enumerates Cordera. Arte Z offers artists a free channel to exhibit their productions, virtual and in person, and various forms of marketing, including auctions and raffles, with the appropriate scale for the pockets of those interested. In addition, the application will develop the production of audiovisual pieces, which expand knowledge of the work and the artist, and live broadcasts of activities and contests.

“Arte Z proposes a synergy where everyone involved in the artistic field can be better off. And that people access the works of their artists directly. We are the possibility that the works are available for the enjoyment of the spectators without intermediaries”, emphasizes Codero. For the launch at the Raggio invites the Association of Friends of the CABA Historical Institute and the Historical Research Institute of the Apple of Lights. And Cordero foresees that in the coming months there will be joint actions with other institutions and exhibitions in different parts of the country.

The first of Art Z

“Open to various artists who in the future will be the patrimony of Argentines,” Cordero envisions. And the first to participate are creators with different life paths, some with a name of weight in the artistic environment, others who are carving out a new path for themselves, who add up to a powerful ally with the app. Peteco Carabajal, obviously better known for his musical facet, revolutionary in popular music, has been displaying a solid pictorial work, almost secret. “Paint has gotten into me like I once grabbed a violin, a quena or a charango. And I started. And with paint it’s the same. I have bought brushes, a frame and just paint, without asking anyone. And I keep practicing”, Peteco confessed to serargentino.com, in an unpublished fragment of that interview, before his virtual exhibition “PeteCovid” in 2021. Now in person, part of these works can be seen a few meters from the Plaza de Mayo.

Jorge Opazo is an Argentine artist, who lived for the most part in Santiago de Chile, with an extensive curriculum in the world of comics and illustration, the notable Jorge Quien, and international awards count. Simultaneously, he presented his works of art in Berlin (DAAD Grant, UdK University of Arts, 2004), Buenos Aires (Di Tella Archive, 2005), Chicago (International Comic Art Forum, 2007), Belfast (Fix Festival, 2008) and Lyon (BD Festival, 2013). “In my works I am always citing characters, works and authors that I admire. Between a fictional character and a flesh and blood artist I don’t make too many distinctions. I like to consider them as part of the same story, of the same “art cartoon”, Opazo points out, which erases the limits between high and mass culture.

Everything that sends a message”

The female world has been a recurring theme for Teresa Andrade. A selection of these pieces, which navigate between sensitive geometry and a certain tone of metaphysical painting, will be seen at Buenos Aires as of the last fortnight of 2022. “I have always been surrounded by many women…they are present…they come in…they go out and remain and they were my great inspiration for the WOMEN series. I remember a text that my mother liked very much by Gabriela Mistral… And I feel that it represents us and remained in my memory… “Where there is a tree to plant, you plant it… Where there is a mistake to correct, amend it your. Where there is an effort that everyone avoids, do it yourself. Be the one who moves the stone out of the way…” And there is a little part of this text by Gabriel García Márquez, how much it defines us!!! A woman is her attitude, her way of being, the way she treats you and looks at you… A woman is her intelligence, her rebellion, her delivery, her generosity, her ability to do several things simultaneously, her hobbies… .”, points out the artist formed by William Roux and Juan Doffo.

The gossips Teresa Andrade

“I don’t have a marked influence, I admire many well-varied artists. I have a very broad taste, but I am inclined towards modern art, one that combines current events, innovation and beauty adapted to the place. I admire the creativity of an artist and his intelligence when it comes to producing a work. As an artist, I feel closer to the conceptual and everything that sends a message”, was defined Mauro Jacobo at serargentino.com, who will exhibit pieces with a search for color and shapes that are very topical, as well as his interests. A humanitarian line that “reaches several people”, in the desire shared with the creators of the Arte Z app, who give their first brushstrokes on the canvas of the visual memory of a people.
