The healing of a doctor, Mario Tangari and the mystery of Natuzza

Mario Tangari’s book “Natuzza Evolo. The healing of a doctor between science and mysticism ”.

To discuss it, together with the author, during a meeting moderated by the journalist Clemente Angotti and opened by the greetings of the mayor of Taverna Sebastiano Tarantino, the journalist Pino Nano, already sent and editor-in-chief of the Tgr Calabria who has repeatedly interviewed the mystic of Paravati for which the cause of beatification is underway, and the priest and “angelologist” Don Marcello Stanzione.

Among those present at the evening, during which the actor Alex Donato read some passages from the volume, also the daughter of Natuzza Angela Nicolace.

The mayor of Taverna Sebastiano Tarantino recalled the link with the Sila Catanzarese of the mystic who, in a small house in the village, spent her summer holidays without however depriving herself of receiving the people who went to visit her for comfort. A bond that is now plastically represented by the dedication to Mamma Natuzza by the Municipality of a public area, also embellished by an artistic work, created by the sculptor Silvio Amelio.

In a telephone connection, because he was unable to be present, Pino Nano highlighted, at times unable to hold back the emotion, the sensations experienced during the countless encounters with the mystic of Paravati who gave him the interview in which he defined himself “A worm of earth” and that went around the world. He underlined, recalling some episodes he witnessed, the importance of Mario Tangari’s book and the testimony that the author intended to give by rediscovering the faith through the “intercession” of Mamma Natuzza.

Don Marcello Stanzione, author of about 300 books on religious themes including “Natuzza Evolo and the souls in Purgatory” and “Natuzza Evolo and the angels”, focused on the importance, in times of “empty churches” and the decline of interest in spirituality, in the figure of the guardian angel who belongs to Natuzza, who has always highlighted his role, and in figures such as Padre Pio or Escrivà de Balaguer.

The priest, who said he approached Natuzza by reading everything that was written about her figure after the mystic’s death, hoped that the volume of Tangari could be read by many people not only in Italy but also outside national borders.

Mario Tangari, orthopedic doctor and traumatologist, university professor, whose ingenuity is responsible for innovative avant-garde minimally invasive techniques, recounted his experience with Mamma Natuzza with very participatory accents. He started the story in 1983 when he was a young medical student and got to know, almost by chance, this simple woman who in some respects reminded him of his mother, due to an unpleasant circumstance linked to the illness of a child son of some fellow citizens of Cotronei. ; and a second part, much more recent, when, the presence in some ways inexplicable of Mamma Natuzza, allowed him in a moment of strong loss and illness to find himself, sudden healing and faith. “In this book – said Tangari – I tell of the facts of which they were the protagonists; then each can judge for himself “. Tangari announced shortly that the publication whose proceeds are donated to charity will also be printed in English and French.
