The fourth edition of “Wine Experience Oschiri” kicks off

The 1st and 2nd July the Municipal Theater of Oschiria village in northern Sardinia between Olbia and Sassari, hosts the “Oschiri Wine Experience “an event in which the main Sardinian and national wineries meet with journalists and experts on the latest market trends, the technological innovations in the cellar and to make their productions known to the public of enthusiasts.

The novelty of the 2022 edition is the look at design and art as an original component of the wine universe. The territory and its peculiarities will be the setting for numerous cultural events scattered in different corners of the country: artists, designers and creatives will tell the story of wine through their works.

At the center of the event, now in its fourth edition, the conference scheduled for Friday July 1st from 10:00, which will take stock of the current state of the world of wine. Climate change, digitization in the vineyard and in the cellar and the challenges for the development of wine companies are just some of the topics that producers, operators and experts in the sector will address during the day.

Tigellio Danese, President of Wine Experience APS and Roberto Carta, Mayor of Oschiri, will open the proceedings, while the interventions will be moderated by Giuseppe Carrus, journalist and curator of the Gambero Rosso Italian Wines Guide. The new formula of the event also open to creativity and culture is due to the contribution of Rosella Migliavacca, manager and journalist.

Music and words. At the opening there will be a short performance of music and reading of poems dedicated to wine. Stefano Cossu, born in 1975, threw himself into the theater out of passion at the age of 17 and, since then, has not been able to get out of it. A lover of the Stanislavskij method, he studied with Sante Maurizi and Coco Leonardi. Specialized in brilliant comedies without depriving himself of forays into the dramatic, he has collaborated as an actor with the best names in the Sardinian theater scene. He directed the “Gabbia di Matti” Cultural Theater Association for over 12 years, filling provincial theaters with comedies mainly by contemporary English and American authors.

Giuliana Cadoni has a master’s degree in harp at the L. Canepa Conservatory of Sassari with a grade of 110 cum laude. She won the second prize of the XI International Music Competition AMIGDALA – Special online edition 2022. Among her most important concerts, we should mention: Hospitalis Sancti Antoni, Oristano; solo harp, pieces from the classical, Celtic and Baroque repertoire, Railway station, Nuoro; chamber music, harp and flute duo, Teatro Verdi in Sassari; Symphony Orchestra of the L. Canepa Conservatory, soloist.

Live Mural. Two young artists, Cao flower And Paola Pinna they will be presented to the public before starting their live performance in which they will paint a mural in the village of Oschiri. The theme is «the culture of wine», in particular declined on the theme of women placed at the center of their interpretation. Their work will constitute the first nucleus of the future art district of the village.

Fiore Cao was born in Sardinia in Cagliari. She graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in sculpture. Paola Pinna with her work explores the meaning of the human being today, focusing on different aspects of the relationship between man and technology and showing particular interest in new ways of conceiving life, spirituality, the metaverse and the empowerment of women in the era of technological progress.

Author’s barrels. In collaboration with the Fabrizio De Andrè Art School of Olbia, 54 students, aged 14 to 18, they developed the theme of wine culture, painting 20 barrels donated by the cellars. Each barrel is signed by one or more of the young artists. At the end of the exhibition, the barrels will be exhibited in the showrooms of the cellars from which they come, in the Berchidda Wine Museum and in other temporary exhibitions.

Painting stimulates collective reflection, blocks thought forever in an image, and returns it to the public as a question. 20 barrels, 18 cellars, 1 museum, 1 event: Wine Experience. 54 students and 20 projects linked by a single theme: Wine.

Of Gems and Wine. One will be set up in the conference venue show in which 3 chosen bottles of wine will be combined with as many gems linked together by “elective affinities” for peculiar characteristics identified by gemologist Maura Danese and from sommelier Andrea Balleri. The captions will explain to visitors the wine / gem affinities through the two compared technical languages.

Maura Danese graduated with honors in Managerial Economics, later obtained a GIA Graduate Gemologist at the Gemological Institute of America in Florence. Andrea Balleri was Best Sommelier of Italy in 2013 and finalist for Best Sommelier of the World WSA.

The first work on the theme dates back to 2008, when I made an entire nativity scene using recycled wine bottles painted with enamel, depicting, in addition to the holy family, iconic scenes of the Sardinian people and our customs, glimpses of the country and decorations inspired by theSardinian craftsmanship. In 2017, the desire to create new works was born in me, using only wine as a raw material: I thought in particular of those wines, of excellent vintages, which in addition to being tasted, deserved to be remembered by becoming visual art. “

Charming Weaving. In collaboration with the MU company, the location of the event will be enhanced by the display of a collection of excellent carpets, designed by Mariantonia Urru, the result of collaboration with internationally renowned artists, designers and architects.

Mariantonia Urru gives weaving multiple meanings: linking past and present, innovation and tradition, understood as the tradition of making. Look to the future, maintaining a quality of product and craftsmanship that belongs to the past and which constitutes a great heritage of technical and cultural value. It has opened its doors to collaboration with international designers, supporting them in the search for technical solutions and supporting their various formal results. Mariantonia Urru intends to promote the territory by making the sharing of knowledge and communication the basis of its innovative path.
