Remiremont – The soup festival still on the agenda Saturday November 19, 2022

On Saturday November 19, 2022 from 4:00 p.m., Place de l’Abbaye in Remiremont, the 6 local Secours Catholique teams in the Mountain area will meet to offer their traditional Soup Festival.

The public will be invited to taste and vote for the best soup among all those prepared and presented by the teams. Entertainment will be offered throughout the afternoon. On the program: a stroll through the streets of Remiremont around the square, circus arts, magic… Entertainment and conviviality will be on the agenda!

This event will also be an opportunity for the public to discover the many activities and actions of Secours Catholique in favor of the most disadvantaged.

Secours Catholique is present throughout the territory of the Mountain area with 6 teams: Val d’Ajol, Remiremont, Plombières les Bains, Haute Moselotte, Gérardmer and Saint Amé/Vagney work daily to meet the needs of people weakened. With its 130 volunteers, Secours Catholique de la Zone Montagne works all year round to support several hundred families and people in precarious situations, isolation and loneliness.

The actions of the local teams are part of our new “(Re)inventing fraternity” delegation project, which has set priorities for the next five years:

Pay attention to the spiritual dimension of each, the foundation of our action: recognize the other as his equal, pay attention to what makes sense to him, live harmonious relationships between all our actors…

Being and acting together, our priority: putting the dignity of people and their autonomy at the heart of our action, acting “with” and not “for”, allowing those who wish to mobilize their skills and talents, acting through a benevolent and open framework to help build relationships of trust, allow the people supported to take part in the development of projects in all its stages…

Revitalize the territories of life, go beyond the partnership to act in cooperation, experiment with a more flexible organization, a governance closer to the realities on the ground.

This event will also be an opportunity for teams to call new people interested in volunteering: there are many ways to be useful. Any commitment is welcome. Everyone can thus give their time to the extent of their possibilities and share the wealth of their experience and skills in the service of the associative project. There are many volunteer needs to support the teams and lead new projects such as the solidarity grocery store in Remiremont which recently opened its doors, we need you!
