News from ADDA Gers in October

Marc Fouilland brought together the actors of the events for October

A Samatan “Almost nothingx In the loop: when plastic proposals enter into dialogue with a choreographic proposal.

The city of Samatan, through its Guy Bordes cultural space, is developing a territorial artistic project this season by choosing a double invitation: on the one hand, two visual artists (installation and photography), on the other a contemporary dance company . In the middle, a common theme: everyday life and its gestures, its little things… which make life salty. Through the project “Almost Nothing x In the loop”, Samatan offers an encounter between 3 views of the world, between plastic proposals, Almost Nothing by Géraldine de Haan & Angèle Saccucci, and choreography, In the loop by Carré Blanc Cie.
. [Projet construit et réalisé en étroite collaboration avec plusieurs partenaires : Art-Op, la DSDEN du Gers, la Ligue de l’enseignement et l’Adda du Gers.] In the dynamic of discovering contemporary dance through artistic and cultural education, with schoolchildren and amateurs alike, the Adda du Gers is strongly associated with this regional project.

Gwenaël Prud’homme, cultural manager of the city of Samatan, leader of the “Almost nothing x in the mouth” project, explains

“A cultural political project is being posed to the municipality of Samatan and one of the pillars of this project is the transversality at the level of the artistic sectors.
To embody this transversality, in the last quarter of 2022, the Samatan teams in partnership with Adda du Gers, DSDEN du Gers, Artothèque de Gondrin and the Ligue de l’enseignement du Gers decided to set up a project plastic arts and performing arts.

This exhibition will be linked to a period of artistic residence in the Jean-Claude Brialy room followed by an artistic and cultural education course with the Carré Blanc company, an amateur practice course in Samatan, a school performance with the Ligue of education, and all public with the city of Samatan as programmer. The idea is to
The link will also be made during the “windows on creation”: Samatan is used to welcoming companies in creation residence without it being open to the public. … something is happening in the room but what? … The idea here is to offer more than stage edges: meetings with school and extra-curricular audiences during a snack and breakfast, open to all… to allow the meeting between the public and contemporary creation.
A first for Samatan to make these crossings, thus making it possible to move the lines – and to move them within the framework of a cultural policy that is asserting itself week after week.
This is also an important issue for the Gers company Carré Blanc because there is a change of artistic direction on this project, which this time is not directed by Michèle Dhallu but by 3 young artists from the company: Zoé Boutoille, Yane Corfa and Bryan Montarou.
A way for Samatan, a small town with modest means, to support emergence, and to reconcile amateur practice, which is very strong in Samatan, and professional practice, without hierarchy”

La Dynamo, a third place labeled Territory Factory, whose mission is to be a resource place for all the third places in the Gers department – and which brings together Kanopé and Gers development – organizes a series of workshops that offer time learning, exchange of practices and enrichment of everyone’s projects.
These workshops are intended to address substantive issues, facilitate support between peers and encourage networking. They are open to anyone involved in the emergence of places of cooperative initiatives and third places: space managers, group leaders, users, project leaders, communities, etc.
On Thursday October 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., La Petite Pierre in Jégun (32) is hosting a day of meetings, sharing, experiences organized as part of the La Dynamo workshops in partnership with Adda du Gers and with the participation of La Petite Pierre, Bouillon Cube (34), and Cie Le Phun (31). Circa, 35th edition of the circus festival, the important event of the season
35 years of circus and artistic emotions!

10 years of the CIRC, a unique place to best support artists in their creation. Shows in town, in the big top, indoors, in public spaces, underwater, on land and even in the air! Meeting of circus schools, crossroads of pedagogies. And also: workshops, training, visits, exhibitions, meetings with artists, open stages, musical evenings…
 10 days  21 professional shows  15 circus school shows (Cnac, Esacto’Lido, French Federation of Circus Schools,
European Federation of Circus Schools)  84 performances  16 venues

Laure Baqué, General Secretary of CIRCa “Only two short weeks before the start of the festival! And it’s already starting with the arrival of a first company this Sunday, October 9: the company Basinga, in residence at the Garros district for the creation of an event to be held on Sunday, October 23 at 4:30 p.m.: Traversée. This show will mark the culmination of a great adventure that started in October 2021 and will take the form of a “participatory tightrope walker performance”. The same company, in partnership with CIRCA for a year and for two more years, will also perform with another show on the forecourt of the Cathedral on October 27 & 28.

Two proposals among several others that will take place outdoors with the aim of surprising the public, the inhabitants, and energizing the city; such as Real Levitation, a project designed for the public space with the Cie L’immédiat.
This year, the festival is once again offering a multitude of proposals in formats as varied as each other: a musical show, UFO shows – with in particular Out of the blue, by Frédéri Vernier and Sébastien Davis-Vangelder, which will take place under the water, in an aquarium which will be filled as the spectacle of waste progresses in order to raise awareness of the pollution of the seas – open stages, school shows, with nearly 1,500 pupils from kindergarten to high school affected over 2 days, meetings with the artists… and, like every year, the creations of the circus schools, with around 500 young people in total – and a strong participation from Latin American countries, after two complicated years due to covid.
This edition is also part of the IARC’s anniversary season: the circus innovation and research center is indeed celebrating its 10th anniversary and will be the occasion for new or renewed collaborations, with Ciné 32 and the Museum of the Americas in particular.
She will also present artists from Auscita on stage: in the show Garcimore est mort by Gaël Santisteva and in that of the company l’Attraction celeste, L’Empreinte.
Finally, a little word about the volunteers, at the rendezvous after two years slightly tainted by the covid: there will be more than 180 this year, all generations combined, from adolescence to retirement… from here and elsewhere
