Malika Ayane, Capossela, Renga, Omar Sosa and Bersani: summer at the Lazzaretto

Bergamo. Malika Ayane, Vinicio Capossela and Francesco Rengabut also Samuel Bersani, Antonella Ruggiero, Ale & Franz and Leonardo Manera are among the protagonists of “Lazzaretto Estate 2022”. The initiative is also proposed this year in the wake of the success of the previous edition, which recorded a total of 12 thousand visitors.

The program, which ranges from concerts, theatrical performances and cabaret, includes 18 evenings concentrated in the weeks ranging from 29 June to 31 July, structured as a festival. Unlike last year, it will no longer be necessary to space out the seats one meter away (as required by the anti-Covid legislation) and the capacity has been increased: this suggestive location will be able to accommodate up to 1,300 spectators, in order to have a wider participation in the most popular events.

Established artists on a national scale and beyond, such as Malika Ayane (July 8), Vinicio Capossela (July 24), Michele Bravi (July 28), Francesco Renga (July 30) e Samuel Bersani (July 31), who was entrusted with the last date of the program, for the grand finale.

The calendar of cabaret shows is also very rich, with Ale and Franz (July 20, “Say, do and run away”), Paolo Migone (July 9), Leonardo Manera (July 26, “Beauty”), The Scemette (July 13, “Sketch in the city”) e Max Angioni directly from LOL (July 18).

Furthermore, on the stage of the Lazzaretto there will be space for the realities of the territory, which will make the programming even richer and more varied. It is about Former Grocery (July 29, “Fame mia – Almost a biography” by Annagaia Marchioro), Up to You, Bergamo Jazz (July 1), Want Festival (June 29), CDpM And Minimum Theater.

More precisely, for the inauguration, on 29 June, deSidera will propose the show “Mater spiritualis et corporalis”, with Antonella Ruggiero And Lucilla Giagnoni, which meet in a recital between music and words. Two days later, on July 1st, a concert by the Cuban pianist will be held Omar Sosa and the percussionist Ernestticocurated by the Donizetti Theater Foundation and Bergamo Jazz.

The music will intertwine with the poetics of one of the most important Italian storytellers of the second half of the twentieth century, namely Italo Calvino: on 10 July it will be the turn of “Le città invisibili”, curated by CDpM.

Another date to note is July 19: on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the massacre in via d’Amelio in which the anti-mafia magistrate Paolo Borsellino was killed, the show “I have been” is proposed, curated by Teatro Minimo, with the actor from Bergamo Giovanni Soldani.

Finally, the rapper’s concert should be noted Mr Rain (15th of July); “When I will be able to love – Massini tells Gaber”, di Stefano Massini (July 21) and “Ino – Contemporary circus show”, by Ino Kollektiv (23 July).

The Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Bergamo, Nadia Ghisalberti, underlines: “The stage of the Lazzaretto has an eclectic vocation, which ranges from pop music to stand up comedy, from contemporary theater to jazz, without forgetting the appointments with history that have marked our country. Among the guests stand out Malika Ayane, who this year will be the testimonial of the Music Festival, but also Capossela, Renga and Bersani. I like the idea that famous names and projects that were born and raised in the area alternate on the same stage. In particular, I wanted to give space to the new generations, involving the young artistic director of Up to You, a training course on the organization of the live show aimed at under 25, who chose the exhibition for the Lazzaretto Ino“.

Finally, a novelty aimed at promoting the enjoyment of culture in Bergamo should be noted. Councilor Ghisalberti adds: “This year the Lazzaretto Estate project is linked to the Accademia Carrara Foundation in a special collaboration that combines entertainment and art. Thanks to this partnership, those attending the events at the Lazzaretto will be given a coupon that will allow them to visit the Carrara academy benefiting from a discount of half the admission ticket (5 euros instead of 10). The promotion will be valid from the date of the first concert (June 29) until August 28.

Tickets can be purchased both online (from Wednesday 15 June) and by contacting the ticket office, which will be open at the Lazzaretto on show days. All information relating to the ticket office, timetables and organization will be available on www.lazzarettobergamo.it

Also this year the price of tickets will be controlled. The Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Bergamo observes: “By political choice we have decided to ensure that they do not have an excessive cost. Depending on the shows, the amount will vary between 4 and 35 euros. The one relating to the memory of Falcone and Borsellino, on the other hand, will be free ”.

“Lazzaretto Estate 2022” is organized by the Municipality of Bergamo. The set-up and technical-logistical support service was entrusted to Sbam Noisy Ideas, a brand of the Cimice company, while the artistic direction is by Cipiesse and Shining Production. Councilor Ghisalberti specifies: “In order to better manage the organization of this festival, a three-year agreement was signed for the set-up and technical-logistical support. The financial commitment is 207 thousand euros per year which includes the costs for the stage, the service, the ticketing service, reception and management of the hall as well as communication. For the artistic part, on the other hand, guests are naturally chosen from year to year to create a schedule that may interest the public “.
