MAZATLAN. – A new brand arrived at the port and has gone around the world, especially in the past Tianguis Turístico, we are talking about MZT., A brand that seeks to position the port in terms of tourism, but how did the idea come about? We talked about the creative director of the cuatroam agency, Juan Alejandro Noriega.

The agency is already some 14 years old, it began between Gabriel Guevara García Sancho and Alejandro, with the idea of taking design to another level, of creating original brands and of being a reference agency, managing, with their experience, to develop this tourist brand .

“It was practically sought, from an investigation, which is what may be the most characteristic of Mazatlan, in what way we were going to project and integrate it, I think that the process is the challenge because, we are allologists, of each brand, you need to read each term, if it is a dentist, look for what it is, if it was Mazatlán, read the history of Mazatlán”, he declared.

What makes a Mazatlan proud? Under that premise, Juan Alejandro was getting the ideas and together with Gabriel, they were tying, commenting, capturing the creative idea, without expecting that their expectations would be exceeded due to the recognition of the people.

“I think that the creative challenge was that, combining or being able to unify in this brand, which had a favorable impact. I would summarize it in that, in knowing Mazatlan and being able to carry it out in a final result that we all already know, ”he said.

What does the brand mean?

Cuatroam uploaded a reel to their Instagram account, where they explain each of the meanings of the brand, with about 800 likes and some 30 comments, among which the Ambassador of Mexico in Spain, Quirino Ordaz Coppel and also the of businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego, owner of Mazatlán FC.

The beaches of Mazatlan

The agency explained that I am looking for a way to represent such a significant element for Mazatlan, that is, the Pacific Sea, the symbolic size of its waves and how one after another, they cover the sea sand, leaving a warm sound.

sun and sunsets

Something very characteristic, are the sunsets in Mazatlan, where none is the same as another. The agency explains that, being a fundamental element, it was represented graphically, placing the sun inside the letter, emulating a new sunset.

Gastronomy

Much of Mazatlan gastronomy is based on seafood, giving a special flavor to the dishes, shrimp being one of the most famous and easily identifiable in relation to the port.

culture and history

The Historic Center could not be left out of the brand, thus representing the history and culture that each of its streets and the theater reflect. The agency sought to represent with form and texture what is distinguished in that area.

Deer

What does Mazatlan mean? Land of Deer, hence this emblematic animal will not be missing in the silhouette of the brand, thus uniting all the necessary elements to combine what the “Pearl of the Pacific” represents.
