For a quadripartite democracy in Cameroon

We must humbly recognize that we have all strayed into a false democratic trajectory and above all riddled with lies.

If this is heavily valid for the party-state in business, it is also for our plethora of opposition parties. If you look closely, our oppositions often operate on the same thought patterns exalting the tribe as a political base and not thinking, probity, the quest for excellence, etc. This is also true for our civil society and intellectual who has not done much to propose real alternative models. Even the community and the international media have never ceased to accompany us throughout the years and elections in this democratic bewilderment which is common to us with most of our African States.

We watch today, not without delight, the Rdpc house burn. We put this down to the longevity in power of Paul Biya which is surely also one of the causes. But the real reason for the disintegration of our society and of this party-state is more systemic than individual.

If there is a fire in the barracks, the main reasons are as follows:

The fraudulent, flawed and artificial over-obesity of the de facto party-state in Cameroon. It continued for more than 30 years to behave as it did in the single party era. Taking advantage of abusively exorbitant advantages linked to the human, financial and material resources of the entire state apparatus, he imposed a democratic swindle without precedent in the political history of humanity.

A monumental system of political and electoral corruption and open-air purchase of citizens’ consciences, causing a terrible political and social curse on the whole country. A gigantic mechanism of electoral fraud and cheating has always been promoted and carrying the same harmful effects.

An immeasurable behavior of political tribalism affects most of the main communities and tribes of the country. All are eager to impose a hegemonic order and identity withdrawal, and therefore opposed to a project of republican, integrative and fraternal democracy in accordance with the ideals of our ancestors who had proclaimed: “May all your children from north to south, from ‘is to the West be all love…..’

An ontological and congenital inability to conceive of politics as a noble activity based on probity, integrity and virtue. The culture here is that of the best dribbler who is often the most dishonest of actors, in his ability to trick and deceive others. We are not far from a proven form of Satanism. For example, in all our languages politics simply means lies, trickery, banditry, fraud…. Everyone seems to have integrated this….. Why be surprised by what has been happening to us for some time?

A glaring lack of ideological cadastres among political actors. The latter behave more like righteous opportunists interested in the positions of power and wealth to which they can accede. Minimal reflection on the restructuring of space and political life is not their concern.

A cultural, spiritual and philosophical wandering of the political, administrative and intellectual elite into Western occultist lodges and circles, all of which places them in a position of vassalage and servitude to the foreign masters of the neocolonial slave system.

Solutions

1- Dismantle the devices of the party-state and establish a more balanced and more equitable political system between the actors present. This imposes a battery of various measures but above all truth and sincerity between the actors.

Reconfigure our political landscape into 4 main families of thought. Call it Quadripartite Democracy. The main danger of political tribalism in full swing can thus be deconstructed and neutralized. In another publication, I had already proposed the following identifying themes: 1. May the best win (right). 2. God at the center of political life (center right). 3. The Africa Union is strength (center left). 4. Equality for all (left).

Themes on which our citizens will now have to base their ideological and electoral choices. Robust States General and National Democracy will enable us to refine and implement this refounding vision.

A robust law on the criminalization of corruption and electoral fraud. Create an observatory of tribalism and identity withdrawals while criminalizing public acts related to these abuses. And finally, all sorts of other downstream measures aimed at giving credibility and conferring all the necessary transparency to the electoral process (voting methods, rules for financing elections and parties, etc.).

It is therefore, as everyone can see, a vast program barely outlined here that will have to be further formulated and implemented in order to properly rectify the democratic trajectory of our country. From a systemic and interactionist perspective. Otherwise the fire risks taking us all…

God free and bless Cameroon.
