SATURDAY 7 JANUARY 2023

Multifunctional Hall Cathedral, Cloisters of the Cathedral, 3.30 pm EVENT FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

The journey of the Magi

Children’s Screening

A splendid animated film, born from the great Czechoslovakian tradition, which happily harmonizes the precision of the rhythms with the poetry of the colours. It is a symbolic tale, in 8 episodes, which tells of the three Magi, travelers heading to the same destination. Indeed, to follow the star that has appeared in the sky, Melchiorre, Gaspare and Baldassarre set off without knowing where they will arrive. Along the way they will find many pitfalls and many obstacles and, in order to continue, each one will have to abandon, little by little, what is close to his heart. In front of the newborn King lying on the straw of a manger they will finally discover the meaning of their journey.

The episodes do not correspond to a historical narration, but are stories that try to imagine what the life and attitude of these three biblical characters would have been like in the face of finding a sign in heaven that leads them to recognize the birth of Jesus on earth. The story revolves around different aspects that the texts of the New Testament and the Christian tradition have transmitted about these characters, and it does so in an imaginative and attractive way.

Animation, 56 mins
