Daniele Bossari relies on Instagram to tell about a dark period, the pain and the hope of rebirth, with that delicacy that has always characterized his way of making TV even in the most controversial contexts, of telling his life on the small screen and on social media, of live everything without filters except with that of confidentiality.
Bossari chooses this Monday 5 September, the beginning of the new working year for many, to publish a long post on Instagram accompanied by a photo that sees him handing a tarot card, the Hanged Man, to the lens, which appears in the foreground while he is slightly out of focus in the background. A precise choice, which fully represents what he has been in these difficult months, as he felt in this battle that he can tell.
“I’m alive and I can tell you about it”
it is the central passage of this message that arrives unexpectedly to the general public and in which he describes with delicacy, but with all the strength of the pain felt, of the fear experienced, of the anguish shared with his family. A report that takes your breath away and leaves nothing in search of pity, but rather has “rebirth” as its key word.
“The first Monday of September is the day when many start their business again. But for me, the return to the simple daily routine takes on a meaning of rebirth today “
Bossari writes opening his message and his heart.
“To explain what happened to me, I use the twelfth arcane of the tarot:“ the hanging one ”, because it perfectly represents the condition in which I found myself.
It appeared to me in a dream on a spring night, while I was trying to make sense of the physical suffering I was experiencing during the months of chemo and radiotherapy, to treat a tumor in my throat.
I’m alive and I can tell you about it ”.
Long, painful therapies that he faces by relying on medical science for body care and meditation and spirituality to soothe the soul.
“In the impossibility of escaping the pain, I had to accept it. Hanging on the thread of fate, but with total faith in medical science, I went through the storm.
While the doctors treated my body, I tried to cure my soul by putting into practice those teachings dictated by all the books I read, the spiritual texts, the meditations.
The inner search had to find meaning in what was happening to me ”.
Hence the importance of the paper that appeared to him in his dream, a representation of this phase that marked him deeply
“The hanged one” is the one who empties himself to become a recipient of luminous forces. This disease represented for me a very powerful initiatory form, forcing me to disintegrate my ego, crumbling all certainty, allowing me to revise the scale of values: what are the real priorities? The first is love.
The love I received from my family and loved ones. The help, the presence, the sacrifice of those who have been close to me.
And then the love of life itself. In the face of the fear of death, everything becomes more vivid.
Sometimes you have to go through pain to understand happiness. Now I know it well ”.
