The final day of the ninth edition of the Chiavari Festival of the Word is approaching, the cultural event that until Sunday 5 June will animate the city of arcades with meetings, words, music and presentations. The Festival is promoted by the Municipality of Chiavari Tourism Department, supported by the Liguria Region and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Rai, Metropolitan City of Genoa, Anci, University of Genoa, supported by Banca Carige.
The events of the fourth and last day of the Festival of the Word, Sunday 5 June 2022, all linked to the theme of the ninth edition “Obstination”, begin at 10.30 in Piazza Nostra Signora dell’Orto with the meeting “Dalla e Battiato in clear” with the television author Edoardo Rossi and with the projection of contents created for Sky Arte. Massimo Poggini moderates the meeting. The second appointment of the day, at 3.30 pm, will take place in the Palazzo Rocca hall and will be the presentation of the book “Case” by Helena Molinari, author and creator of the Festival of the Word, in dialogue with the journalist Paolo Cavallo. Also in the hall of Palazzo Rocca, at 4.30 pm, the “Liguria in Giallo” event will be held, with the presentation of three noir-themed books: “In the wrong time” by Bruno Morchio, “With art and deception ”By Valeria Corciolani and“ An icy winter in viale Bligny ”by Arianna Destito Maffei.
The program on Sunday 5 June continues at the San Francesco Auditorium at 4 pm with the creator of 3 million followers Vanessa Padovani, known on social media as “Miss Mum smile”. In a meeting moderated by the journalist Ilaria Bellantoni, she will present her book “Mom, can I be a tiktoker?”.
From social networks to music: at 5 pm the meeting with the singer-songwriter Federico Sirianni is scheduled, who will present his new “concept album” Maqroll on the stage of the Festival della Parola; guest of the meeting the guitarist Armando Corsi, moderates the meeting Andrea Podestà.
The calendar of events continues at 5.30 pm at the Economic Society with the meeting “Obstinate like Ukrainians: the courage to resist”, with Yaryna Grusha, writer and professor of Ukrainian language at the University of Milan, and Anna Zafesova, journalist and former Soviet Union expert.
The program continues at 6 pm at the San Francesco Auditorium with the singer-songwriter Vittorio De Scalzi and the presentation of his book “Once I was playing with the New Trolls”, together with the record producer Marco Rettani and the journalist and radio host Massimo Cotto; while at 18.30, at the Economic Society, the appointment of the stubbornness & spirituality trend is scheduled with the psychologist and Buddhist monk Massimo Shidò Squilloni as protagonist. Goffredo Feretto and Helena Molinari moderated the meeting.
At 7 pm, in Piazza Nostra Signora dell’Orto, to talk about obstinacy and the fight against the pandemic, the microbiologist and scientific popularizer Andrea Crisanti, author of the book “Caccia al virus”, will be a guest. He will talk about it in dialogue with the journalist Paolo Cavallo.
The fourth and last day of the Chiavari Word Festival closes at 9.30 pm, again in Piazza Nostra Signora dell’Orto, with the meeting “And I want to live like lilies in the fields”, a special event on Pasolini in the year of centenary of his birth. To pay homage to the writer Fulvio Abbate, author of “When Pasolini was there”, with readings by the actor Massimiliano Finazzer Flory and participation by the radio host Massimo Cotto.
On Sunday there will also be an event linked to the Chiavari Word Festival to be held in Genoa: at 11.15 am, at Palazzo Ducale, the “Beni in Tour” will start, a guided tour in the historic city center through the goods confiscated from the organized crime. The event, with free admission but with limited numbers, is curated by Anemmu, Presidio Morvillo and Libera Nicholas Green.
Sunday 5th June will also be the last opportunity to visit the Festival della Parola exhibition “You are a value. Le Donne di Rose ”, in the Sala della Torre Civica of the IAT Office, open from 10 to 13 and from 16 to 22. The exhibition is curated by Meeting Point International of Kampala.
