Big Trouble In Little China Lo

Dwayne Johnson attempted a reboot of Big Trouble in Little China, which Lo-Pan actor James Hong shares his thoughts on. John Carpenter’s original Big Trouble in Little China followed Russell’s character Jack Burton and his wild adventures in and around San Francisco’s Chinatown. The action revolves around Burton and his friend Wang Chi (Dennis Dun), and their efforts to find and rescue Chi’s green-eyed fiancée, Miao Yin (Suzee Pai), after she is kidnapped. The kidnapper, Lo-Pan, did it to marry her, as his curse specifies that he must marry a woman with green eyes to retain his immortality.

Although he’s had his hands full with Black Adam for a while, Johnson has also been longing for this reboot for a few years now, although there has been a lack of details regarding anything related to the potential reboot since its premiere. announcement in 2015, except for it’s described as a follow-up rather than a remake. Will The Rock’s Big Trouble in Little China reboot?

Although Johnson is one of the biggest names in Hollywood, if not the biggest right now, his passion project doesn’t seem to be succeeding. Word first got out in 2015 about the Johnson-directed reboot of Big Trouble in Little China, but producer Hiram Garcia admitted he ran into legal issues while rebooting the film. That being said, it doesn’t appear to be just a pipe dream, as Johnson and Garcia have ideas of where to perform the reboot. Both fans of the film, it’s clear they want to continue the film in the same vein as Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, allowing the original film to stand tall while paying homage to it and forging its own path. Given the success of Johnson’s Jumanji reboot and the sequel that followed, it seems like a safe idea for those who are also hesitant about a follow-up to Big Trouble in Little China.

It’s safe to assume that the reboot of Big Trouble in Little China is far from the case, given that Johnson is one of the busiest men in Hollywood, namely that he has now traveled to the DCEU with Black Adam and that he is also preparing Jungle. Cruise 2 for Disney, two Red Notice sequels for Netflix and Red One at Prime Video. With Carpenter also proving largely against the concept, it could be a while before Johnson and his group manage to convince the original director to allow them to do the follow-up.
