LISTENING – An important debut, because it sees the director and performer Stefano Artissunch return to inaugurate the path of one of his shows from his city, Ascoli. And then because the operation undertaken appears absolutely courageous in adopting the formula of “theatre within the theatre” with the comic genius of Molière.
The staging residence
A work that sees its staging residency right at the Ventidio Basso Theater and which will be on stage tonight (8.30pm) and tomorrow (5.30pm), focusing on the variety card, so dear to the musical stagings with which the texts of the French author were once accompanied. We are talking about “Preziose ridiculouse”, a show that sees Benedicta Boccoli and Lorenza Mario on stage together with Artissunch, in the role of presenter. The work, under the guise of a “divertissement”, can also be very bitter, because it brings to the stage the work of two artists who yearn to be able to please and to be “someone” who closely resembles the deeds of many protagonists of the web and current reality shows.
The society of appearances
«A society of appearances, where the people who perform know everything without ever having learned anything» begins Stefano Artissunch, who appears thrilled to have chosen this formula of comic and musical show, which is based on a dramaturgical mechanism that winds between acting , song and dance, however able to reveal the everlasting genius of Molière, authentic giant of the commedia dell’arte. And the artist is also enthusiastic about the two protagonists, Benedicta Boccoli and Lorenza Mario, who play two singers-dancers-singers who perform in a “Cafè Chantant” style variety show for a living. «These two splendid girls gave all of themselves, two talents who don’t know they are talents», Artissunch explains about the two protagonists, with whom he also had lively clashes during the preparation, which then served to offer the best from all. “I love to collide with the actors, and then fall in love with each other with them” he continues, underlining how the continuous exchange of energies then led to a very satisfying result. “Lorenza and Benedicta are very good but unfortunately not so valued in the current Italian artistic scene: I wanted them badly and for all the time they worked together I tried to capture their hearts”, asserts the director and actor, born in Sardinia but citizen of Ascoli for almost thirty years.

«Debuting where I live is always a huge emotion and we, the producer Danila Celani and my wife, always care so much about creating our professional paths here», he confesses, admitting that he is very proud to take the name outside the borders, the quality, the history of Ascoli and its theatre. «Where we live, in all this travertine, everything seems extremely closed, gloomy but it is not like that: I strongly believe in the vibrations of places, which give rise to creativity and spirituality in those who live there», concludes Stefano Artissunch who considers the Piceno capital a forge irreplaceable for so many talents and a place of extraordinary, infinite and absolutely contagious beauty.
